The Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (i-ACC) system is designed to anticipate and react automatically to vehicles cutting across the road.
The i-ACC system will be featured in the European version of the Honda CR-V 2015.
This system utilizes a camera and radar to detect other vehicles on the road and applies algorithms to predict the likelihood of vehicles in neighboring lanes cutting across.
As a result, the i-ACC system can identify potential situations up to 5 seconds in advance. In such cases, the vehicle will notify the driver and gently apply the brakes.
Honda emphasizes that the process is seamless and subtle, setting it apart from conventional adaptive cruise control systems.
This technology will initially be available on the European edition of the CR-V 2015 and will gradually be introduced to other Honda models in the future.
