“Rare” Ford Mustang V8 2.3L is considered an icon for American muscle cars – a famous line of cars known for their powerful and agile performance, representing the “face of the strong” in the land of stars and stripes.
Although it has dimensions of 4,784 x 1,916 x 1,381 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 2,720 mm – equivalent to a standard C-class sedan, the interior space of Ford Mustang is quite modest with only 4 seats and the rear seat cannot be comfortably seated – even for children.
This is a typical example of the philosophy of “functionality-oriented design” cars. Instead of focusing on passenger comfort, Ford Mustang – like many other typical American muscle cars – focuses on superior performance.
The evidence is that the engine compartment of the Ford Mustang has a very long length along the body, pushing the A-pillar deep into the rear. Most of the space is reserved for the V8 engine – the soul of the famous racing horse’s power.
This is also the common point between Ford Mustang and the rugged and masculine American spirit: may not wear a suit, shiny hair like office guys; but always exuding a strong, muscular, and rugged beauty.
In terms of design, the Ford Mustang still maintains the appearance of the golden-age coupes, with a long hood, a sloping roofline with a strong fastback style. Along the body are simple but muscular lines, powerful and vigorous.
The hood is strong and adorned with two air vents to supplement the V8 heart underneath. The majority of the grille area is reserved for the round hexagonal grille, giving a sense of agility and flexibility, not rigid.
The galloping horse logo made of shiny metal is placed slightly off-center to the right of the front of the car instead of the usual center position – showing pride in the wild nature of the famous line of cars, with maximum favor for the driver.
On the sides are the lighting system with large round traditional projector headlights. Three bold LED lines run parallel right next to them, acting as a demi-lighting system, further enhancing the already distinct recognition of the Mustang.
The dual exhaust system with two exhaust pipes on each side is equipped on the Ford Mustang – a feature of the GT version. Combined with the air-damming front bumper, the Ford Mustang is ready to go to the racetrack to “burn the streets” whenever the owner feels like conquering speed.
However, the rearview mirror is a big drawback. The mirror surface is very small, combined with the thick design of the A-pillar and the sloping roofline, greatly reducing the driver’s visibility. Perhaps the car was born to fulfill the ultimate mission of quickly reaching the finish line in “Quarter-mile” races – short-distance races of about ¼ mile, equivalent to over 400m popular in America, instead of the role of a daily practical car.
The rear of the Ford Mustang is also a great attraction. The two rear wheel arches are designed to be extremely powerful, resembling the thigh muscles of the most agile horses galloping on the field.
The rear trunk lid is integrated with a small air spoiler, adding to the sporty look to the American wild horse. The aerodynamic details at the front and rear of the car are painted in cool black color.
Below, Ford Mustang is equipped with a dual exhaust system with two exhaust pipes on each side – a feature of the GT version. Combined with a positioning front air dam, the Ford Mustang can immediately enter the racetrack to operate at high speed whenever the owner wants to conquer speed.
As for the gearbox of Ford Mustang, it follows a classic design, a round knob with a safety lever placed right on top. The driver just needs to put their hand on it to quickly shift gears. Of course, the gear lever behind the steering wheel is also an indispensable feature on this sporty model.
Opening the hood and admiring the engine compartment of the Ford Mustang. This is where the V8 Ecoboost (turbocharged) engine with a capacity of 2.3L resides, capable of producing 310 horsepower to the rear wheels. On the highest-performance Shelby GT350R version, the car can reach a power of up to 760 horsepower thanks to the 5.2L V8 VCT engine.
When opening the door to enter the car, passengers can easily be impressed with the Mustang logo embossed on the footpad. Once again, the designers remind us: remember that you are stepping onto a wild American horse!
When stable in the seat and closed the door, passengers will once again feel the “American car spirit” when they hear the sound of the door closing firmly, extremely “impressive” – even though the car uses frameless windows.
Similarly to the exterior design, the interior of the Ford Mustang is a combination of classic and modern, muscular and sporty elements that cannot be mixed with anything else. The thick and large three-spoke steering wheel is chrome plated, with the galloping horse logo in the center.
On the steering wheel are all the function buttons of the premium safety assist package, with features such as lane keeping assist, intelligent cruise control, maintaining a safe distance from the vehicle in front… helping the car achieve the US 5-star safety standard.
Behind the steering wheel is a large-sized electronic display screen with a size of up to 12 inches, with a modern interface that can be customized according to each driving mode. The interface of this screen prioritizes displaying detailed engine speed, with the red line ranging from 6.5 – 8 thousand rpm.
As a high-performance model with a strong sports spirit, Ford Mustang is equipped with oil pressure and turbine pressure gauges – professional features that usually only appear on racing cars.
Below the screen is the cluster of entertainment information buttons – air conditioning system adjustment, consisting of a combination of a round rotary knob and square buttons, creating a classic, strong, and extremely masculine feeling for the car.
In particular, the control buttons for the operating modes at the very bottom are designed as classic switches, bringing a strong sports atmosphere to the car. With each different driving mode, the car can customize many operating settings: throttle sensitivity, heavy/light steering response; stiff/soft suspension system or open/closed exhaust pipe.
