Ena Takeo, Honda’s Marketing Manager, recently announced a special press event that was held just before the Tokyo Auto Show. The event took place at the Twin Ring Motegi race track, located outside of Tokyo, and featured test drives of the Honda BR-V, S660, and Jade RS models exclusively for the media.
The event began with a thrilling crash test demonstration between the Honda CR-V and Honda Jazz. The test was conducted at Honda’s Automobile R&D Centre on October 27 and showcased the center’s quick response capabilities in research and development.
Honda’s proving ground, situated next to the Automobile R&D Centre, is a unique and comprehensive testing facility that allows simultaneous testing of motorcycles, cars, and energy products. The facility includes a high-speed circular track for durability testing, as well as straight, deep, special surface, wind, and motocross tracks for testing functions such as braking and suspension.
During the event, a Jazz (also known as Fit in some markets) collided with a CR-V at a speed of 60 km/h. Videos of the crash test were captured and can be viewed below for a personal evaluation of the safety features of these vehicles.
