The McLaren Elva with the distinguishing serial number 122 stands out with its special paint that can change depending on the angle of light.

A 2021 McLaren Elva will be auctioned publicly by RM Sotheby’s in November with an estimated price ranging from $1.8 to $2.4 million.

McLaren only produced 149 Elva cars and this particular car has the serial number 122. Interestingly, this is not the first time we have seen this Elva. Mecum Auctions auctioned it at the Monterey Car Week last year with an estimated price of around $2.75 million. However, it seems that the auction did not go through successfully.

What makes this Elva special is its Pacific Color Stream paint, a complex color-shifting paint that includes vibrant red, purple, and blue tones. This is an optional paint color and costs up to $37,898. In addition, the exterior of this supercar also features purple brake calipers worth $4,950.

The interior of this unique McLaren Elva is adorned with carbon details, combined with a center control area painted in the same color as the exterior. The seats are black leather with contrasting purple stitching.

The McLaren Elva is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 engine producing 815 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. With this power, the supercar can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds before reaching a top speed of 326 km/h.

RM Sotheby’s notes that this upcoming auctioned Elva has only traveled about 149 km and is currently on display at McLaren Charlotte dealership in North Carolina, USA.
