The Triumph Tiger 800 2019 has been significantly upgraded compared to the 2018 version, especially in terms of the engine and riding modes. Ducati Hypermotard 950 2019, on the other hand, replaces the Hypermotard 939 with many new upgrades, especially in terms of design, frame, and more powerful engine. Both Ducati Hypermotard 950 and Triumph Tiger 800 have a sportier, more exciting, and friendlier design.

The new design of the Hypermotard 950 is inspired by Supermotard races around the world, completely improved to increase excitement. On the other hand, the overall design of the Triumph Tiger 800 XRT 2019 is almost identical to the XCA model that appeared in Vietnam in June 2018. The two new versions launched in Vietnam are Triumph Tiger 800 XR and Tiger 800 XRT with respective prices of 349 and 459 million VND, while the price of Ducati Hypermotard 950 2019 is from 460 million VND (price includes VAT).
In terms of sitting position, the new Hypermotard 950 has been improved to maximize control and increase comfort during operation, with wider handlebar, narrower thigh gap, and a completely new seat design. The front and rear seat designs on the Tiger 800 XRT also maximize comfort for the rider and passengers on trips. The seat height can be adjusted from 810 – 830 mm.
Hypermotard 950 2019 features 17-inch aluminum wheels with Pirelli DiabloRosso III tires, front suspension is a 45mm adjustable Marzocchi fork, and rear suspension is a Sachs mono-shock. Tiger 800 XRT 2019 has Showa USD front forks with 43mm fork diameter and 180mm travel, adjustable, allowing the rider to be more proactive according to their needs, with Showa rear suspension with 170mm travel.
The electronic control system of the Hypermotard 950 includes: Bosch ABS with cornering brake feature (with level 1 customization), Ducati Electronic Traction Control (DTC EVO), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), and Ducati Quick Shift Up / Down (DQS) (pre-installed on the 950 SP version, optional for the base 950 version).
Notably, the new Hypermotard 950 can be equipped with the Ducati Multimedia System (DMS). This feature allows the rider to connect the bike to their smartphone and perform basic operations on the bike’s display screen (make calls, send sms, listen to music) via certain accessories and display relevant information on the bike’s main display. The TFT display design is inspired by the Panigale V4.
The Triumph Tiger 800 2019 is equipped with the latest safety technologies such as ABS anti-lock braking system, Ride-By-Wire throttle, adjustable Traction Control according to user needs, USB port and 12V socket.
In addition, the bike also features a 5-inch full-color TFT display that shows detailed and sharp information. The TFT display can also adjust brightness according to environmental conditions and customize display with 3 different themes according to user preferences. In addition, functions to increase comfort for the rider in cold weather are also equipped such as heated handlebars and heated seats. The headlight of the Tiger 800 XRT is equipped with LED technology along with Daytime Running Lights and automatic turn signals.
The “heart” of the Hypermotard 950 is the Testastretta 11° 937cc L-Twin engine, similar to its predecessor but tuned to achieve a maximum power of 114 horsepower at 9,000 rpm, significantly higher than the 108 horsepower of the Hypermotard 939, and a peak torque of 96 Nm. The engine weight has also been reduced by 1.5 kg compared to the previous generation.
Providing power for the Triumph Tiger 800 XR & XRT 2019 is a 3-cylinder parallel engine with a capacity of 800cc DOHC that generates a maximum power of nearly 95 horsepower at a machine speed of 9,500 rpm and a peak torque of 79 Nm at 8,050 rpm, accompanied by a 6-speed gearbox.
