The new Ducati Diavel V4 is equipped with a Granturismo V4 1,158cc engine, which generates a maximum power of 168 horsepower at 10,750 rpm and a peak torque of 126 Nm at 7,500 rpm. This engine features a technology that deactivates 2 cylinders to save fuel, not only when the bike is stationary but also at low engine speeds when the engine load is reduced.
The engine of the new Diavel V4 originates from the Desmosedici Stradale, which was previously equipped on the Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4. In addition, with the new engine, a new dedicated exhaust system has been equipped with 4 exhaust pipes that give it a very aggressive look on the right. This system produces a deep sound when only 2 cylinders are active and an even more fierce sound when all 4 cylinders are active.
Furthermore, the new Ducati Diavel V4 is lighter (about 13 kg) compared to the Diavel 1260 S. This is also one of the reasons that contribute to its acceleration ability. The bike can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds.
In terms of equipment, I find that the Diavel V4 features dual 330 mm front discs and Brembo Stylema calipers. The bike is also equipped with an advanced electronics package, including 4 Riding Modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, and Wet), traction control (DTC), cornering ABS, wheelie control, bi-directional quickshifter, etc.
In terms of design, the 2023 Ducati Diavel V4 makes a statement with its huge air intakes on either side of the fuel tank, the front DRL light that can change shape, the taillight with dual C-shaped LED elements, and the full LED lighting system.
The new generation Diavel V4 has a 5-inch TFT color display, Bluetooth connectivity for pairing with a smartphone to make calls, read messages, listen to music, or use the GPS navigation system through the Ducati Link app.
