The new Hyundai Santa Fe has a boxy exterior that makes it look more robust than any previous generation. In particular, the XRT Concept version looks even tougher, resembling a dedicated off-road SUV.
According to the Korean automaker, XRT is “a concept car designed to serve the diverse needs of outdoor enthusiasts.” This version is developed based on the Calligraphy variant and is equipped with additional features such as a roof rack for convenient storage of more luggage, a spare tire, a tailgate step, and a small box at the rear. The customized SUV also has more rugged tires compared to the regular version. The car features sturdy black 5-spoke wheels.
Unfortunately, Hyundai does not provide any images or detailed information about the interior of the XRT. We do not know if there are any adjustments inside the cabin to match the rugged exterior design.
It is also unclear whether Hyundai plans to offer the additional equipment on the XRT as factory accessories or if those parts are solely for display on this concept car.
In South Korea and North America, the all-new Santa Fe will be available with two drivetrain options. The 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine (Theta III 2.5T GDI – 8DCT) delivers a maximum power of 281 horsepower. The 1.6-liter Turbocharged Hybrid gasoline engine (Gamma III 1.6T GDI HEV – 6AT) provides a maximum power of 180 horsepower.
In Europe, the 2024 Santa Fe will be available with two drivetrain options, including a turbocharged 1.6L hybrid engine (Gamma III 1.6T GDI HEV – 6AT) or a turbocharged 1.6L plug-in hybrid engine (Gamma III 1.6T GDI PHEV – 6AT) with a maximum power of 160 PS.
In other regions, the all-new Santa Fe will also be equipped with a 2.5-liter gasoline engine (Theta III 2.5 GDI – 8AT) producing a maximum power of 194 PS.
The new generation Santa Fe is expected to be launched in South Korea in the second half of this year and in North America/Europe in the first half of next year. The North American debut will take place at the Los Angeles Auto Show 2023.
