Lexus LBX’s overall length is 4,190 mm, width is 1,825 mm, and height is 1,560 mm, with a wheelbase length of 2,580 mm. Compared to the UX, the new LBX is 305 mm shorter and 15 mm narrower, but 20 mm higher. The car is equipped with two options for alloy wheels, including 17-inch and 18-inch sizes.
The 2023 Lexus LBX will be exclusively available as a hybrid and will come in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. Under the hood is a hybrid system based on a 1.5L 3-cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 134 horsepower and a peak torque of 185 Nm. With this power, the car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 9.2 seconds.
All versions of the new Lexus LBX are equipped with MacPherson strut front suspension and rear torsion beam suspension for FWD models, and double wishbone suspension for AWD models. The specifications of the AWD model have not been disclosed yet, but it will be supplemented with a rear electric motor. Interestingly, the small crossover has an aluminum hood and plastic wheel arches to reduce weight.
Moving inside, the new Lexus LBX features a fully digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch screen and a 9.8-inch touch screen entertainment display combined with an optional head-up display. The infotainment system supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Lexus once again collaborates with Mark Levinson to provide a 13-speaker sound system with a subwoofer.
The Lexus LBX is expected to go into production later this year and be available in Europe and other markets by the end of this year or early 2024.
