Porsche Cayenne has just unveiled an upgraded version with comprehensive changes both inside and out, including the return of the V8 engine on the Cayenne S.
The most noticeable change that we can easily notice is that the interior of the 2024 Cayenne is inspired by the Taycan. The car is equipped with a 10.9-inch entertainment screen for front passengers. Meanwhile, the central control unit is arranged more neatly by moving the gear selector to the control panel.
In the middle of the control panel is a 12.3-inch infotainment touch screen, supporting Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, as well as Apple Music and Spotify. The 2024 Cayenne supports voice control of Siri’s vehicle functions. In particular, the Cayenne 2024 uses a completely new 12.6-inch digital measuring cluster, which can be adjusted to 7 different display interfaces, from minimalistic analog clocks to night vision mode.
In terms of exterior design, notable changes include redesigned headlights without the waterdrop effect for a more angular approach. The front bumper has also been redesigned, and the front mudguards and hood have been redesigned to give the car a sportier look.
Moving to the back, we can see the new taillights stretching across the width of the car, also inspired by the Taycan’s design.
The 2024 Porsche Cayenne is offered in 3 new exterior colors, including Algarve Blue Metallic, Montego Blue Metallic, and Arctic Grey. Additionally, there are a range of new wheel designs, with options ranging from 20 to 22 inches.
All engine variants offered have slightly increased power compared to the previous version, from the V6, 3.0L turbocharged engine to the Turbo GT’s twin-turbocharged V8, which stands out. In particular, the Cayenne S has dropped the twin-turbo V6 engine and replaced it with a new twin-turbo V8 engine tuned with a power increase of 34 horsepower and 50 Nm of torque, to achieve a total output of 468 horsepower and 599 Nm of torque. The new engine helps reduce the 0-96 km/h acceleration time from 4.6 seconds to 4.4 seconds (with the Sport Chrono package). The top speed of the Cayenne S is limited to 270 km/h.
The standard single-turbo V6 engine on the base Cayenne offers 348 horsepower and a maximum torque of 499 Nm, an increase of 13 horsepower and 49 Nm compared to the previous version.
The same goes for the E-Hybrid models, besides the upgraded engine, the hybrid also has a larger high-voltage battery, with power increasing from 17.9 kWh to 25.9 kWh. The combined power of the E-Hybrid is 463 horsepower.
Finally, the Turbo GT’s twin-turbocharged V8 engine is still the top engine of the 2024 Cayenne range and is only available in the coupe body style, with a power of 650 horsepower. This power allows the car to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 3.1 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 302 km/h.
In addition, the car also receives upgrades for the suspension system. The Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) active suspension system is now standard equipment, while the upgraded suspension is equipped for all variants. The air suspension system remains an option on the 2024 Cayenne.
Furthermore, the Cayenne 2024 is also offered with more standard equipment, including Matrix LED headlights, PASM, and a range of active safety options.
Accompanying the notable upgrades is the increase in price for the 2024 Porsche Cayenne, from $72,200 to $79,200. The Cayenne E-Hybrid increases from $86,500 to $91,700 (Coupe at $95,700), while the Cayenne S increases from $90,900 to $95,700 ($102,100 for the Coupe). If money is not an issue, you can choose the Cayenne Turbo GT starting at $196,300, an increase from the predecessor’s $188,700. All prices exclude shipping charges.
The 2024 Porsche Cayenne is now available for ordering and is expected to be delivered to customers in the summer.
