Honda City 2023 Facelift Officially Unveiled, Price Starts from 330 million VND

The upgraded version of the 5th generation Honda City has been officially launched in India with a starting price of 1,149 million rupees (equivalent to 330 million dong).

Regarding the exterior, the facelift version has a thinner chrome strip on the grille, while the grille itself has a new honeycomb pattern. The front bumper has also been redesigned, combined with the black trim connecting the fog light cavities with the lower air intake.

Meanwhile, the LED headlights and side design of the car remain unchanged, although the 2023 City is equipped with new designed alloy wheels.

At the rear, the car’s rear bumper has also been upgraded with a black faux diffuser, the reflectors have been repositioned along with a small integrated spoiler on the trunk lid.

In the Indian market, the Honda City 2023 is offered with a new exterior color called Obsidian Blue Pearl, alongside the current colors including Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Golden Brown Metallic, Meteoroid Grey Metallic, and Lunar Silver Metallic.

Similar to the exterior, the interior also receives subtle changes. The layout of the dashboard and control buttons remains almost unchanged, with beige and black tones for petrol engine versions, and black and ivory for hybrid versions.

Furthermore, Honda has added new variants to the City lineup, including the base SV version alongside the existing V, VX, and ZX versions. The City Hybrid variant now also has an affordable V version, replacing the ZX version.

Depending on the variant, the car’s cabin is equipped with a 7-inch color TFT screen for the instrument cluster and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system (with support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), 6 airbags, rain-sensing wipers, interior ambient lighting, wireless charging, 8 speakers, automatic air conditioning with PM2.5 fine dust filtration and rear air vents, keyless entry and ignition, power sunroof, manually adjustable rear sunshade, and tire pressure monitoring system.

The Honda Sensing suite of driver assistance systems is available and includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, automatic headlights, low-speed cruise control, and forward-collision warning. Additionally, the car is equipped with the Honda LaneWatch system and a range of passive safety features.

As for the powertrain, the previously available 1.5L i-DTEC turbocharged diesel engine has been discontinued, leaving only the 1.5L i-VTEC gasoline engine with 121 PS at 6,600 rpm and maximum torque of 145 Nm at 4,300 rpm. The SV version is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission, while all other engine versions (V, VX, and ZX) are offered with the option of a CVT transmission.

The City Hybrid 2023 combines a 1.5L i-VTEC DOHC gasoline Atkinson engine with an output of 98 PS and torque of 127 Nm. This engine acts as a generator for the hybrid battery pack, which powers the electric motor attached to the wheels with a power output of 109 PS and torque of 253 Nm. The City Hybrid has a combined power output of 126 PS.

In addition, the City Hybrid is also equipped with an electronic parking brake and rear disc brakes, instead of the mechanical handbrake and drum brakes found on regular versions.
