The sales consultant “suggested” customers who are interested in the Honda CR-V 2024 to buy additional accessories worth 50 million VND if they want to have the car delivered immediately.
On October 25, Honda officially launched the CR-V 2024 in the Vietnamese market. The car is sold in 4 versions including G, L, L AWD and e:HEV RS with prices ranging from 1.109 to 1.259 billion VND. Therefore, in the C-segment SUV segment, the CR-V is significantly more expensive than the Mazda CX-5 (749-999 million VND), Hyundai Tucson (769-899 million VND) or Ford Territory (822-935 million VND).
Immediately after its launch, the CR-V 2024 was “lost” at the dealership. Specifically, according to information from a sales consultant, if customers want to receive the Honda CR-V 2024 e:HEV RS hybrid version immediately, they need to buy additional accessories worth 50 million VND. Therefore, if the “lost” is included, this version will have a total price of nearly 1.5 billion VND.
The high price combined with the “lost” situation at the dealership will make it difficult for the Honda CR-V 2024 to reach customers. With the price range of the CR-V, customers have many options in the wider D-segment SUV segment, such as the Hyundai Santa Fe (price 970 million – 1.3 billion VND) or the Ford Everest (1.1 – 1.5 billion VND).
Compared to the previous generation, the Honda CR-V 2024 has been comprehensively upgraded in terms of design, equipment and engine. The car is equipped with LED headlights with adaptive technology, integrated daytime running lights and a seamless design with the grille.
The interior of the car also has a series of new and more modern equipment such as a 10.2-inch TFT digital instrument cluster and a 9-inch entertainment screen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay connection.
Other notable features include automatic anti-glare rearview mirror, HUD display, power tailgate, electronic parking brake, wireless phone charging. High-end versions have smart key or smart card type lock, panoramic sunroof.
One of the attractive points of the Honda CR-V 2024 is the active safety system Honda Sensing, which appears on all versions. On the e:HEV version, this technology package includes collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control including low speed range, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive automatic headlights, and forward collision alert.
In terms of performance, the Honda CR-V 2024 gasoline version is equipped with a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, producing a maximum power of 188 horsepower and a maximum torque of 240Nm. It is accompanied by a CVT gearbox, front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
The e:HEV version of the CR-V is equipped with a 2.0L Atkinson Cycle 4-cylinder DOHC gasoline engine combined with 2 electric motors for a power output of 204 horsepower and a maximum torque of 335 Nm. It is accompanied by an e-CVT gearbox and front-wheel drive.
