According to some sources, the Peugeot 408 crossover model will officially be launched in Vietnam on October 21.
Similar to its siblings, the 2008, 3008, and 5008, Peugeot 408 will be assembled domestically. According to some sales consultants, this model will have a price ranging from VND 999 million to VND 1,249 billion.
The car is positioned in the C-segment SUV with dimensions of 4,690 x 1,859 x 1,480 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 2,787 mm.
Peugeot 408 2023 has a modern design with a sloping roof, unique body with many sharp lines and bold curves. The front of the car stands out with a frameless grille, slim LED matrix headlights, and daytime running LED strips that extend down to the front bumper like a pair of characteristic fangs. The rear of the car still features the familiar 3-stripe LED taillights of Peugeot.
Regarding the interior, Peugeot 408 2023 has a 5-seat configuration with a range of top modern amenities.
These include: a digital instrument cluster with a 10-inch screen behind the steering wheel, a 10-inch touch screen infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support, software updates via WiFi and voice control.
Peugeot 408 2023 is also equipped with a metal trim gear lever, panoramic power-adjustable sunroof, 690W Focal sound system with 10 speakers, wireless charging, 4 USB ports, LED ambient lighting, heated steering wheel and heated windshield…
In the European market, Peugeot 408 will have 3 engine options, including 2 plug-in hybrid versions and a gasoline version.
It is not clear what engine will be used in Vietnam. It is likely that the car will use a 1.2L turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine with a maximum power of 130 horsepower and a peak torque of 230 Nm. The engine will be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Previously, Peugeot 408 was distributed in Vietnam as a C-segment sedan. However, it was discontinued due to underwhelming sales.
In this comeback, the car is positioned in the C-segment high-riding category, competing with rivals such as Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, Haval H6 HEV….
