Introduced for the first time in September 2020, up until now, the Korean automaker is preparing to release an upgraded version for the current generation Hyundai Tucson. While recent upgrades of Hyundai’s products are usually carried out with considerable changes, this time the Korean automaker seems to be quite cautious by only applying minor design changes for the Hyundai Tucson Facelift.
Based on the prototype test photos, it can be seen that the car will have a bold front grille similar to the grille on the Santa Cruz model. In addition, the headlight cluster and front bumper are redesigned, giving it a more sporty look.
Moving to the rear, we can expect a redesigned rear bumper and updated taillights. Currently, there are many opinions that hope Hyundai will remove the fang-style taillight arrangement as seen on the current version.
However, the interior of the Hyundai Tucson Facelift is promised to receive notable upgrades, following the style of the new Santa Fe. Accordingly, we can expect the next generation Santa Fe to receive a modern panoramic curved display system as well as the latest safety features and technologies.
Regarding the powertrain, depending on the markets, the Hyundai Tucson will be offered with different engine options. Experts assess that there is little possibility of changes in the transmission options with the facelift version of Tucson, except for minor adjustments to improve engine efficiency and the possibility of upgrading the battery pack to increase the electric operating range for the PHEV variant.
The exact launch time of the Hyundai Tucson Facelift is still unclear, but it is likely to be around the summer of 2024 in Korea.
