According to reports from Japanese media, Toyota is set to develop a compact version of the Land Cruiser called the Land Cruiser Mini. This will be a competitor to the 5-door Suzuki Jimny and will be based on a separate ladder frame platform.

Just a few weeks ago, the all-new Land Cruiser Prado was introduced globally, and its compact version has been teased, showing an overall shape with tall pillars and a nearly flat roofline. The car seems to share some similarities with the Toyota Compact Cruiser EV concept that was showcased two years ago. However, at the time of launch, this will not be a fully electric vehicle according to reports.

Here, we have two unofficial renderings for the Toyota Land Cruiser Mini, with a boxy and rugged design. The car borrows elements from the new generation of the Land Cruiser Prado and the Cruiser EV concept. The upright front fascia consists of a C-shaped LED DRL strip surrounding sharp LED headlights. Meanwhile, vertical LED turn lights are arranged, and a small black grille with prominent TOYOTA lettering is featured.

The front bumper has a rugged appearance with a solid skid plate. Other highlights of the Toyota Land Cruiser Mini include the muscular hood, flared wheel arches with black cladding, dual-tone alloy wheels similar to the concept, and metallic accents for decorative elements.

You can also see the tall pillars and sturdy roof rails, dual exhaust system, roof-integrated spoiler, and separate LED taillights, giving the car a distinct look.

In terms of engines, the Toyota Land Cruiser Mini could be equipped with a 2.0L gasoline engine from the Corolla Cross, a 2.5L hybrid engine from the RAV4, or a 2.8L turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine.
