The long-wheelbase version of this luxury sedan model Mercedes E-Class can be considered a cheaper alternative to the flagship S-Class sedan, providing more space, technology, and comfort for rear passengers.
Externally, the E-Class L is distinguished from regular versions by its longer rear doors, thicker C-pillars and rear glass, and a special badge on the D-pillar, making it look more like a Maybach. The rest of the design is inherited from the regular E-Class along with the iconic classic star on the grille, LED taillights, welcome lights.
Of course, with the AMG Line package, the car will have different wheel designs, a more sporty bumper and illuminated grille.
The Chinese version of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class L has a length of 5,092 mm, 143 mm longer than the regular E-Class, and a wheelbase of 3,094 mm.
Inside, the dashboard design is still inherited from the E-Class, including the hyperscreen display with 3 large screens, with applications and graphics tailored to each area. Rear passengers have more legroom, adjustable backrests, and electrically adjustable footrests.
Additional amenities include neck heating function on the rear headrests, dual wireless phone charging, and a premium Burmester sound system. Additionally, there is a special button to electronically fold the front passenger seat for rear-seat passengers to stretch their legs comfortably. However, this model does not have a separate screen for rear passengers.
In China, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class L will be offered with a 4-cylinder engine with two configurations – the E270L with 201 horsepower and the more powerful E300L with 255 horsepower. Moreover, this product line is expected to expand with more options in the future. The E-Class L is equipped with an air suspension system and rear-wheel steering.
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class L will go on sale in China in the coming months with an undisclosed price.
