Omoda 5 EV belongs to the B-size pure electric SUV segment, directly competing with VinFast VF 6. The car is equipped with a front-mounted electric motor with a power of 204 horsepower and a 61 kWh battery pack for a maximum driving range of about 450 km.

Chery recently announced new images and details about the pure electric SUV model Omoda 5 EV at the Geneva/Qatar Motor Show before its launch in Europe and other markets next year. This car was first introduced at the Shanghai Auto Show earlier this year.

In terms of performance, the Omoda 5 EV is equipped with a front-mounted electric motor with a power of 204 horsepower. It is accompanied by a 61 kWh battery pack for a driving range of about 450 km after a full charge.

Although not a performance-oriented model, the Omoda 5 EV still has impressive acceleration capability, taking only 7.6 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. This electric car is also equipped with fast charging technology DC 110 kW, allowing the battery capacity to increase from 0 to 80% in just about 30 minutes.

The overall design of the Omoda 5 EV is still quite similar to the gasoline engine version, but the front face of the car has been refined. Specifically, the car has eliminated the grille, and the logo of the car brand has been replaced by a large OMODA lettering and a new headlight design.

At the rear, the Omoda 5 EV is equipped with a large spoiler and a Chery logo on the taillight bar. In addition, the car has eliminated the exhaust system and replaced it with a simple gray-black bumper.

A few months ago, Chery confirmed that it will launch the Omoda 5 in the European market with both electric and gasoline engine versions. The gasoline engine version is equipped with a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, 1.6-liter capacity, producing a power of 197 horsepower and a maximum torque of 290 Nm.

In addition, this pure electric CUV will also be sold in the Vietnamese market. This information was personally disclosed by Mr. Tocy Tang – General Director of Chery Vietnam in April this year. The leader said that this car will be imported to Vietnam from Indonesia at the end of this year. The company is negotiating with domestic partners for distribution and establishing assembly plants. In Vietnam, the Omoda 5 EV directly competes with VinFast VF 6.
