Despite the considerable discounts at the dealership, Nissan Almera still lacks a significant competitive advantage over its segment rivals, who are also enjoying similar perks.

Starting from October 2023, Nissan Vietnam has launched a program to support 100% registration fee and 0% interest for 12 months for the Almera model. With the 100% registration fee exemption program, customers buying this B-class sedan model can save from 54 – 64 million VND when purchasing the CVT version, depending on the province of registration. The corresponding figures for the Premium CVT version are from 59 – 71 million VND.

By the end of October, dealers continue to offer cash incentives of up to 100 million VND for this B-class sedan. The post-incentive price of the Nissan Almera at dealerships is only 439 million VND for the CVT version and 495 million VND for the Premium CVT version.

Despite the significant price reduction at dealerships, the Nissan Almera still does not have a major competitive advantage. The reason is that this model does not have the lowest price in its segment, as it is still higher than the Mazda2 Sedan, Kia Soluto, and Mitsubishi Attrage. In addition, competitors in the same segment as the Nissan Almera also receive incentives, such as the Honda City and Toyota Vios with a 100% registration fee support program. Not only does it not have a truly attractive selling price, but the Nissan Almera also has disadvantages in terms of dealer network and after-sales service.

In the B-class sedan segment, the Nissan Almera is considered to have good driving experience. The car is equipped with a turbocharged gasoline engine with a capacity of 1.0L, producing a maximum power of 100 horsepower and a maximum torque of 160 Nm. This engine is combined with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and has a fuel consumption of 4.5 liters per 100 km when operated on the highway.

In addition, this Japanese car model has notable exterior features such as LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, 15-inch alloy wheels, and electric/foldable/power-adjustable mirrors with LED turn signals. Inside the car, the Nissan Almera is equipped with a sporty D-cut bottom flat steering wheel, an 8-inch touchscreen center display that supports Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a single-zone automatic air conditioning system, and USB/12V charging ports.

Meanwhile, the safety features of the car are also quite comprehensive, including 6 airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD), hill start assist (HSA), vehicle dynamic control (VDC), traction control system (TCS), 360-degree camera, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Unfortunately, Nissan has not disclosed the specific sales figures of the Almera in Vietnam.
