Recently, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has officially issued an airworthiness certificate for the EH216-S flying taxi model by EHang.

This certification proves that the design of EH216-S meets all safety standards and flight requirements. EH216-S is also qualified to carry out commercial passenger transportation.

EH216-S is an unmanned electric aircraft that can carry up to 2 passengers and their luggage. This flying taxi is equipped with a 17 kW battery and 16 electric motors operating 16 propellers, allowing the vehicle to travel at a speed of about 96 km/h, with a maximum speed of up to 130 km/h.

In addition, the vehicle uses green energy and is equipped with various intelligent systems, including flight control and battery management systems, as well as high-speed wireless network, providing a safe and smooth flying experience. EH216-S operates entirely on electricity and can be fully charged in two hours.

Apart from passenger transportation and tourism, EH216-S can also be widely applied in the field of cargo transportation and emergency medical services.

Before receiving the certificate, this unmanned aircraft has undergone over 40,000 test flights in various locations. In addition, EH216-S has passed more than 500 test items.

The founder and CEO of EHang said that the company will deploy commercial operations for this unmanned eVTOL model EH216-S. However, the company has not yet revealed the specific time for deployment.
