On October 25, 2023, the all-new Honda CR-V was officially launched in the Vietnamese market. Prior to that, Honda had discontinued promotions for the previous generation CR-V. However, at dealerships, promotional programs for the previous generation Honda CR-V continue in order to push inventory.
Specifically, the previous generation Honda CR-V is currently being offered with a cash discount of up to 150 million VND at dealerships. In addition, there is a 50% waiver on the government’s registration fee for domestically produced and assembled vehicles, bringing the total discount to about 200 million VND. The remaining inventory consists mainly of the top-of-the-line L version with a listed price of 1.118 billion VND.
Compared to the 2024 Honda CR-V, the previous generation is considerably cheaper. The all-new Honda CR-V comes in 4 versions, including G, L, L AWD, and e:HEV RS, with prices ranging from 1.109 to 1.31 billion VND. This is not to mention that the new generation Honda CR-V is still “sold with extras” at dealerships. If you want to receive the car early, buyers of this C-segment SUV need to purchase an additional package worth tens of millions of VND.
In the new generation, the Honda CR-V has undergone a complete transformation in terms of design, with a sportier, more rugged, and more agile look. In addition to the design changes, there are also a host of upgraded features such as LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with 2 memory positions, 4-way power-adjustable passenger seat, digital instrument cluster, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support, Bose 12-speaker sound system, automatic climate control, ambient interior lighting, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, head-up display, remote engine start, smart key card, and electronic parking brake.
Furthermore, the Honda CR-V now has a hybrid version for the Vietnamese market for the first time. Specifically, the e:HEV RS variant uses a 2.0L 4-cylinder gasoline engine with 146 horsepower. The engine is combined with 2 electric motors for a total power output of 181 horsepower. When combined, these two components give the 2024 Honda CR-V e:HEV RS a power output of 204 horsepower and a maximum torque of 335 Nm.
Meanwhile, the G, L, and L AWD variants continue to be equipped with a 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine with a maximum power output of 188 horsepower and a maximum torque of 240 Nm, just like before. The engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, depending on the variant. This is the first time this model has had AWD in Vietnam.
Next are the safety features such as 8 airbags, Honda LaneWatch lane watch system, hill descent assist, active steering assist, tire pressure monitoring system, drowsiness warning, 360-degree camera, front/rear sensors, and rear seat reminder.
The active safety features of the Honda Sensing package will be standard on the car, including collision mitigation braking system, automatic adaptive headlights, adaptive cruise control including low-speed follow, lane keeping assist, and forward collision warning.
The petrol versions of the car will continue to be locally assembled, thus benefiting from a 50% exemption on the registration fee from the government until the end of this year. The hybrid version is imported whole from Thailand.
