The GUM AutoRally has been organized annually since 2014 and is the largest and most prestigious vintage car competition in Russia. The competition brings a festive atmosphere with a variety of classic cars.
Although the annual route of the parade changes each year, the vintage car convoy always passes through the most famous landmarks of Moscow.
The youngest car in this year’s race is 35 years old, while the oldest one is an 85-year-old convertible GAZ-A. The competition includes cars such as ZIL, Chaika, Volga, Zaporozhets, Pobeda, Moskvich, and Zhiguli.
The average age of the participating vehicles is 62. Some have been meticulously restored while others are cherished heirlooms passed down through generations.
The parade starts when the Spasskaya Tower clock signals and the 120 cars pass through the route. The main goal for the vintage cars is to maintain the necessary speed and reach the checkpoints on time.
