Recently, Isuzu has decided to introduce a new version of the D-Max pickup truck. This is a mid-life facelift of the third-generation D-Max, which has been on the market since 2019.

Compared to the previous version, Isuzu D-Max facelift has refreshed its exterior while adding some modern features while keeping the powertrain unchanged.

The changes to the exterior focus on the front of the vehicle with a 3D designed grille, new headlights (Bi-Led technology on higher trims), and a rugged front bumper. The rear area of the vehicle has also been refined with larger integrated spoilers and updated tail lights. Like the previous version, the new Isuzu D-Max is still available with a variety of different bed options, suited to customers’ various needs.

The D-Max V-Cross 4×4 variant features a sporty exterior with the addition of an exclusive body kit, including plastic garnish around the grille, chrome front bumper, extended wheel arches, matte black 18-inch alloy wheels, and some other accessories.

Inside, the Isuzu D-Max 2024 is equipped with new trim options and upgraded technology. The 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system now has new touch-sensitive buttons/shortcuts; the physical volume and tuning knobs below are combined with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. Additionally, Isuzu has also added USB-C ports for both front and rear passengers, as well as a new remote engine start key.

In terms of performance, the Isuzu D-Max 2024 still offers two engine options like the previous version. The first is a 1.9L turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine with a maximum output of 150 horsepower and a peak torque of 350 Nm. The second option is still a 3.0L diesel 4-cylinder engine, but with a displacement of 3.0L, producing up to 190 horsepower and a peak torque of 450 Nm. Accompanying the engine options are a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission, rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.

Although there is no upgrade in terms of the engine, Isuzu states that the D-Max 2024 has improved off-road capability thanks to the addition of an electronic limited-slip differential at the rear combined with the Rough Terrain Mode system, which helps the driver control braking and traction in challenging off-road situations.

Also at the event, Isuzu announced that the D-Max will be added with an electric version in the near future. This information was confirmed by Mr. Shinsuke Minami – President and Chief Operating Officer of Isuzu, at the unveiling ceremony of the new D-Max version. The leader revealed that the Isuzu D-Max electric version will be produced in Thailand and will be launched first in Europe before entering other markets. Currently, the company has not announced the specifications or expected launch date of this version.

The Isuzu D-Max 2024 will be available for sale starting from October 12th in the Thai market, and then it will be distributed to many other markets, possibly including Vietnam. The starting price for the truck is $14,551, and goes up to $33,876 for the highest trim, equivalent to approximately 356 – 836 million VND. Meanwhile, the price of the Ford Ranger in Thailand ranges from 633 to 886 million VND after conversion.
