Hennessey has just unveiled the VelociRaptor 500 modification based on the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor with a power output of up to 500 horsepower.
The Hennessey VelociRaptor 500 is a modification based on the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor that was recently launched in the US market. True to its name, the VelociRaptor 500 has a power output of up to 500 horsepower, accompanied by 745 lb-ft of torque, which is 95 horsepower and 119 lb-ft more than the stock version. To achieve this, Hennessey has upgraded the EcoBoost V6 3.0L engine on the Ranger Raptor by adding a high-performance air intake, a larger intercooler, and a new engine control unit (ECU) software. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with front and rear limited-slip differentials and a 2-speed auxiliary transmission.
Furthermore, Hennessey VelociRaptor 500 still features an active exhaust system, 64mm Fox “Live Valve” shock absorbers, and a drive mode selector with Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, Sand, Mud/Ruts, Rock Crawl, Baja, and Tow-Haul modes. The active exhaust system has Quiet, Normal, Sport, and Off-Road (Baja) mode settings.
As for the exterior, the Hennessey VelociRaptor 500 is equipped with new front and rear bumpers with integrated auxiliary LED lights. This modified model comes standard with 17-inch Hennessey wheels and 33-inch BFGoodrich off-road tires. Inside the cabin, the VelociRaptor 500 seats feature Hennessey logos on the headrests. The vehicle’s serial number is also located in the engine compartment and the interior space.
The 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor has a starting price of $56,960 in the US (about 1.33 billion VND). Meanwhile, the price for the Hennessey VelociRaptor 500 upgrade package goes up to $24,950 (about 585 million VND). The Ranger Raptor 2023 is also sold in Vietnam with a starting price from 1.299 billion VND. However, unlike the US market, the vehicle distributed in Vietnam is only equipped with a 2.0L diesel engine producing 207 horsepower.
