The new generation of Mercedes-AMG high-performance crossover model GLC will be distributed by the German luxury car brand with two versions: GLC 43 and GLC 63 S E Performance. The GLC 53 version has been dropped.
Shortly after the new generation of Mercedes-Benz GLC was introduced in the Vietnamese market, the German luxury car brand continued to launch the high-performance version of this luxury compact crossover model. Accordingly, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 2024 and GLC 63 S E Performance 2025 will appear in numerous markets worldwide.
The standard AMG GLC 43 version will be equipped with a twin-turbocharged I4 2.0L engine, integrated with a mild hybrid system – delivering 416 horsepower and an additional 13 horsepower from the integrated starter-generator (ISG) system at low speeds. The car is equipped with a 9-speed automatic transmission similar to its brother, the AMG E63, the renowned 4Matic all-wheel-drive system, AMG Ride Control air suspension with adaptive dampers, and rear-wheel steering capability.
The higher-positioned AMG GLC 63 S E Performance version is equipped with a powerful “heart” – a twin-turbocharged I4 2.0L engine coupled with an electric motor on the rear axle, delivering a maximum power of up to 671 horsepower and 1,020 Nm of torque. The twin-turbocharged in-line 4-cylinder engine alone mentioned above also produces an impressive output of 469 horsepower and 545 Nm of pulling force – deserving the title of the most powerful in-line 4-cylinder engine in the world!
Thanks to these features, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S E Performance can accelerate from 0 – 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds before reaching a top speed of 275 km/h. Like its younger brother, the GLC 43, the GLC 63 S E Performance is also equipped with a 9-speed automatic transmission and, notably, the peak-level 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system, which can vary the torque distribution between the front and rear axles and can transfer 100% of the pulling force to the rear wheels.
The high-performance versions of the GLC 43 and GLC 63 duo testify to the AMG division of Mercedes right from the exterior design. The most impressive identification feature is the radiator grille with vertically arranged slats and additional horizontally recessed slats, forming a diamond pattern.
The front air intake and the front bumper are also extended to optimize the cooling capacity for the vehicle. The rear end is adorned with a rear wing on the trunk lid, rear side air vents, dual tailpipes on each side along with an extremely sharp front splitter.
The roof of the car consists of a panoramic sunroof and roof rails. The wheels are also luxurious with exclusive AMG multi-spoke design rims, complemented by eye-catching yellow-painted disc brakes and branded Michelin tires. Of course, the vehicle also features side skirts.
Inside the cabin, the interior space of the AMG GLC is also more luxurious with standard high-quality MB-tex and composite fiber material upholstery. Of course, customers can also choose the premium Nappa leather seats with AMG logos engraved on the headrests; or even opt for the sporty Performance seats for their beloved cars.
The MBUX infotainment system, like its basic GLC siblings, is also present in the high-performance version, but has been supplemented by German engineers with a range of exclusive features, including a new AMG interface on the cluster behind the steering wheel, the main display and the windshield HUD; or equipped with AMG Track Pace to record the entire vehicle operation data if you want to “compete” with other owners on the racetrack.
In the two high-performance versions, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 2024 will arrive in the market first in the US around early next year. After that, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S E Performance will be launched at the end of that year. Currently, there is no information about the prices of these two products.
In Vietnam, Mercedes-Benz is currently distributing the new generation of GLC with prices starting from 2.3 billion VND along with a range of luxurious equipment. Many dealerships are also clearing out the remaining GLC units of the previous version at extremely attractive prices with many promotions.
