The third-generation Lexus GX was globally launched last month and is available with two engine options: a turbocharged 3.5L V6 engine and a 2.4L turbocharged hybrid, 4-cylinder engine.
Built on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) GA-F platform just like the LX, the new generation GX has a length of 4,950 mm, width of 1,980 mm, and height of 1,865 mm with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm.
The upcoming launch event of the luxury three-row SUV will mark the first time the GX model appears in the Australian market. The previous two generations of the GX were only sold in North America and select other markets.
Detailed information on pricing and technical specifications of the 2024 Lexus GX for the Australian market has not yet been announced, but Lexus Australia has stated that the GX will initially be available with a powerful turbocharged V6 engine producing 415 PS/650 Nm, combined with a 10-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive.
Australian customers will also be offered the Overtrail version, which only has a 5-seat configuration and is enhanced for off-road capabilities. In addition to exclusive features for each variant, the Overtrail is also equipped with the Electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (E-KDSS).
Furthermore, the Overtrail version also has the Multi-Terrain Select driving mode, providing 6 driving modes including Auto, Dirt, Sand, Mud, Deep Snow, and Rock.
All variants of the 2024 Lexus GX are equipped with the Lexus Safety System+ safety system, along with Lexus Connected Services connectivity.
