Currently, the Mitsubishi Xforce is equipped with standard 6 airbags, blind spot warning (BSW) and rear cross traffic alert (RCTA). Meanwhile, rival models like the Honda HR-V are equipped with a more comprehensive ADAS package including adaptive cruise control (ACC) and lane keeping assist (LKA). However, Mitsubishi does not completely disregard these advanced safety features.
In an interview with reporters at the 2023 Gaikindo International Auto Show (GIIAS) in Indonesia, Mr. Masahiro Ito, Product Specialist Director of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) said: “We are considering adding more ADAS features in the future, but I cannot tell you the exact timing. From the beginning, we have had some ADAS features like BSW and RCTA, but we will add more features in the future.”
In the Indonesian market, the 2024 Mitsubishi Xforce is available in 2 versions, including the standard Exceed CVT with a starting price of 382.5 million Rupiah and the high-end Ultimate CVT with a starting price of 419.1 million Rp, equivalent to 593 million and 650 million VND. When it comes to Vietnam, the selling price of the Mitsubishi Xforce is expected to be around 700-800 million VND.
Based on the “Smooth and Rugged” design concept, the 2024 Mitsubishi Xforce features a rugged, elegant exterior with a strong SUV character, suitable for both urban and off-road driving in the ASEAN region.
The front grille is designed in the sporty Dynamic Shield style. The T-shape daytime running lights combine LED positioning lights in the shape of an L pattern with cutting lines for added emphasis. The rear lights are also designed in a T-shape to create a stable and wide style for the vehicle body.
The car has the highest ground clearance in its segment (222 mm) and 18-inch wheels with large diameter tires, increasing stability on rough roads.
The central control panel is designed based on the horizontal axis design concept, expanding the field of vision in front. The design of the central control panel extends to both sides, creating a spacious feeling inside the interior cabin.
The interior of the car is designed with a focus on practicality. The large 12.3-inch infotainment screen is combined with an 8-inch digital information display with an intuitive interface.
For the first time, the Xforce is equipped with the Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium sound system, developed by Mitsubishi Motors in collaboration with Yamaha. This audio system features eight speakers, including tweeters on both sides of the A-pillar, front door woofers, and dual-coaxial speakers in the rear doors.
Providing power to the car is a 1.5L, 4-cylinder engine, producing a maximum power of 105 PS and a maximum torque of 141 Nm, combined with a CVT transmission.
Mitsubishi Motors for the first time applies four-wheel control technology to the 2WD front-wheel drive Xforce to optimize the performance of the small-size SUV. The four driving modes (Normal Road, Slippery Road, Gravel Road, Muddy Road) allow the driver to choose according to the actual road conditions, combined with Active Yaw Control (AYC).
The Slippery Road mode is first applied to improve stability when driving on slippery road surfaces during rain or on flooded roads, helping to minimize the risk of skidding and providing a reassuring driving experience.
