The 150cc manual gear motorbike segment is highly competitive in the Vietnamese market with brands like Yamaha Exciter 150 (on the right in the picture) and Honda Winner 150. Recently, SYM has officially launched its new sporty manual gear motorbike called Star SR (on the left in the picture), which comes with a 170cc engine.
In the Vietnamese market, the all-new SYM Star SR 170 is priced at an estimated VND 49.9 million (excluding registration tax). The 2019 edition of the Yamaha Exciter 150 in the picture is priced at VND 47.5 million (including VAT).

Below, the LED position lights on the all-new Star SR 170 are shaped like a “V” to give the front face of the bike a more aggressive look. The position lights combined with turn signals on the 2019 Exciter 150 use halogen bulbs with an asymmetrical design on the upper part of the front face, and the taillight has a simple, large design.
The instrument cluster on the all-new Star SR 170 features an LCD display and an analog tachometer. The 2019 Exciter 150 has only one LCD digital display with a styling inspired by the R1, providing clear information on speed, distance, fuel consumption, average speed, etc.

Compared to the previous edition, the lock system of the 2019 Exciter 150 remains unchanged in terms of design, except for the addition of the Answer Back Key feature, which helps locate the bike quickly within a radius of 20 meters. Meanwhile, the lock system on the all-new Star SR 170 is still a traditional mechanical key type.
