For members of the Honda Racing Vietnam team, the name Chang International Circuit is no stranger. This place is always considered the home of Honda Racing Vietnam and has left many memorable emotions for young racers with thrilling performances and many memorable achievements. Especially with Cao Viet Nam, this racer is extremely excited to perform exhilarating accelerations at Chang in this circuit 5. Because the previous circuit 4 at Sepang, Cao Viet Nam was unable to attend because of being diagnosed positive for Covid 19 shortly before the match.

The Chang International Circuit race track, located in the beautiful Buriram province, is 400 km from Bangkok. This is Thailand’s first race track to achieve “Grade 1” standards from the International Automobile Federation FIA, and Grade A standards from the International Motorcycle Federation FIM. The highlight of the track is the 12 challenging curves with a long straight section allowing racers to reach speeds of about 300 km/h during the race.

Before entering the final race of the ARRC 2022 season, the images of the General Director of Honda Vietnam, management, and technicians “igniting” the racers were really impressive, showing that Honda is very dedicated and focuses on investing in this race. Moreover, these are also beautiful and memorable moments, evidence of the dedication and companionship of the whole Honda Racing Vietnam team determined to achieve the best results for this final stage of the season.

However, before the qualifying session, the 3 racers of Honda Racing Vietnam, despite their efforts and determination, did not achieve the desired starting positions. Cao Viet Nam started in the 20th position in the AP250 category. Meanwhile, the positions of Nguyen Duc Thanh and Nguyen Anh Tuan were 17/20 and 19/20 respectively. This also foreshadowed the difficulties and challenges that the team would have to face in Race 1 and Race 2.

Exactly! In Race 1, Nguyen Duc Thanh unfortunately got involved in a collision and had to stop the race in lap 2 with regret. Despite showing clear dissatisfaction, perhaps in the next season, racer #193 will need to improve his “war mentality” to avoid getting involved in unwanted situations, thereby improving his performance.

Running just behind Nguyen Duc Thanh and almost getting involved in a collision, Nguyen Anh Tuan’s spirit was somewhat affected. Racer #173 decided to play it safe, driving cautiously and finishing in 16th position, without scoring any points.

There was a bright spot in Race 1 with Cao Viet Nam when this racer scored 3 points in the AP250 category. Despite not having a favorable starting position, racer #65 with the appropriate racing strategy and daring, clever moves that carried the mark of the “crazy guy” helped Cao Viet Nam take advantage of opportunities to surpass opponents and finish in 13th position. A very commendable effort from racer 65.

With what was shown in Race 1, the entire Honda Racing Vietnam team hopes that the “Crazy Guy” will perform even better to secure a position in the top 10. However, unfavorable weather conditions have brought disadvantages to the racers in general and the 3 Vietnamese boys in particular.

Entering Race 2, heavy rain made the tactics of the racing teams change as they had to use wet tires. This is something that most racers do not want because they may face unpredictable risks if they want to take risks to perform accelerations, turns, or intense disputes in this relentless battle.

To adapt to the bad weather conditions, Nguyen Duc Thanh (number 193) and Nguyen Anh Tuan (number 178) in the UB150 category choose to play it safe, avoiding getting involved in reckless disputes to ensure the strength of the team. However, heavy rain and wet roads caused many racers to fall in Race 2, and Nguyen Anh Tuan’s car also unfortunately encountered problems just before the final lap, causing this racer to be unable to complete the race to the regret of the whole team because number 178 was very close to 11th position. Nguyen Duc Thanh finishes 13th overall.
