At the launching ceremony held in Jakarta, Indonesia, the Repsol Honda Team showcased their 2020 version of RC213V race bikes in colors that resemble those of previous versions. The Honda RC213V 2020 still stands out with a combination of the familiar red, orange, and white colors of recent seasons. Meanwhile, it is still unknown about any changes in the technical specifications of this racing model.

Also at this event, Repsol Honda Team officially introduced their contract with rookie Alex Marquez. The 2019 Moto2 champion will partner with Marc Marquez under the Repsol Honda team’s colors to defend their MotoGP championship in 2020. Alex Marquez is chosen to replace 3-time MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo after the latter announced his retirement in November 2019. This 24-year-old racer is expected to be a perfect addition to the Repsol Honda Team in the 2020 season.

This year, Marc Marquez still chooses the Honda RC213V with the number 93, while his younger brother Alex Marquez opts for the number 73.

“I am truly excited and happy to become a member of the Repsol Honda Team,” Alex Marquez said.

Meanwhile, Marc Marquez will continue to lead the Repsol Honda Team in the 2020 MotoGP season after winning his 6th championship. Marc Marquez’s record-breaking performance in the 2019 MotoGP season helped the Repsol Honda Team secure the Triple Crown for the 3rd consecutive time. The highest titles, including the Rider champion, Team champion, and Manufacturer champion all belong to Honda.

Speaking at the launch event, Marc Marquez said: “I am very happy to be back in Indonesia. The atmosphere here is fantastic for us to mark the beginning of our new season. With high focus and willingness to cooperate within the Repsol Honda Team, we will achieve the best results. Along with the HRC and Repsol technical team, we have accomplished amazing results that serve as a great inspiration for me. Currently, I am looking forward to starting the 2020 season with the RC213V.”

However, experts believe that the changes made by rival racing teams before the 2020 MotoGP season will present many challenges for the Repsol Honda Team this year.
