Due to high input costs, the Mazda CX-5 has been adjusted slightly by an increase of 5 million VND for 4 versions. However, this is still the most attractive C-segment SUV in the Vietnamese market.

Recently, Thaco announced the price adjustment of the popular Mazda CX-5 SUV. Accordingly, the 2.0 Luxury, 2.0 Premium, 2.0L Premium Sport, and 2.0L Premium Exclusive versions have been adjusted with a 5 million VND increase. The remaining versions have unchanged prices, including the standard 2.0 Deluxe. Therefore, the CX-5 is still one of the lowest-priced SUVs in the C-segment, starting at 749 million VND.

Thaco did not disclose the reason for the price increase of the CX-5. However, sales staff at the dealership stated that the slight adjustment in the car price was due to the higher cost of components.

In July 2023, Thaco introduced an upgraded version of the Mazda CX-5 in Vietnam with some minor changes in appearance and additional equipment. Surprisingly, the price of the new version is 90 million VND lower than the previous version.

The attractive price has quickly created a frenzy for the Mazda CX-5 in the Vietnamese market. According to sales data from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA), in the past two months (August, September, and October), the Mazda CX-5 has been the best-selling model in the entire market, with sales of over 2,000 units per month.

In the list of best-selling cars since the beginning of the year, the Mazda CX-5 has climbed to the second position with a total of 13,031 units, second only to the Mitsubishi Xpander (over 15,000 units).

The price of the Mazda CX-5 has ignited a price war, as other manufacturers have also adjusted their list prices to compete. Among them, the Hyundai Tucson has been reduced by nearly 200 million VND.
