Recently, Mercedes-Benz has announced the price adjustment of some official dealer-distributed models in our country.
There will be price increases for five imported models, including GLE 450 4Matic, GLS 450 4Matic, GLE 53 AMG Coupe, GLS Maybach 480, and GLS Maybach 600, starting from January 1st, 2024. The price increase ranges from 50 to 120 million VND.
The old prices will still apply to customers who purchase the vehicles in 2023. Explaining the reason for this price increase, the German carmaker in Vietnam stated that it is due to the impact of inflation and production cost fluctuations.
Meanwhile, the two most popular models of Mercedes-Benz in Vietnam, the C-Class and GLC, will not have price adjustments this time, as both are locally assembled.
The price increases of Mercedes-Benz models could affect the company’s sales in a market where most luxury and mainstream car manufacturers are offering discounts and attractive promotions to attract customers.
In reality, Mercedes-Benz has not offered significant discounts compared to BMW. It is worth noting that in September this year, the brand implemented a discount of 65 to 110 million VND for the C-Class. Other promotions mostly include waiving 50 to 100% of the registration fees.
Although both Mercedes-Benz and BMW are German brands, BMW is less affected by inflation as most of their models sold in Vietnam are locally assembled. Therefore, BMW has regularly offered attractive promotions and discounts to attract customers, with the highest discount reaching nearly 600 million VND. For example, the BMW X6 model has received a total discount of 1.259 billion VND since the beginning of the year.
