Compared to previous seasons, VMRC 2022 has some noteworthy changes. Specifically, for the first time ever, CBR150R is included in the official competition. Additionally, the organizing committee has upgraded the UB 130 category to UB 150 to keep up with the technological trends of major races in the region.
In addition, an interesting and exciting new feature of VMRC 2022 is the “Kid Training Mini Racetrack” and the “Gymkhana” competition for spectators.
Designed specifically for young racers aged from 3-12 who have a passion for speed. The mini racetrack includes 2 activities: balance bike racing for children aged 3-6 and CRF50 riding experience for those aged 7-12.
The activities took place on the morning of May 8th and attracted the participation of over 100 children, with enthusiastic cheers from parents and spectators at Dai Nam racetrack.
Meanwhile, with the “Gymkhana” competition, spectators have the opportunity to experience a professional sports motorcycle model, thereby enhancing their awareness of legally organized professional races.
Returning to the main developments of Race 1 VMRC 2022. After the qualifying session, the racers who secured pole positions in each category were Nguyen Trung Kien (Vietnam Talent Cup – NSF 100 category), Nguyen Phuong Tung (Blade 110 category), Nguyen Minh Di (Winner X 150 category), Nguyen Nhat Truong (CBR150R category) and Le Phung (UB 150 category).
Vietnam Talent Cup (NSF 100 category)
The Vietnam Talent Cup category is a competition among 7 racers, including 1 foreign racer and 1 Vietnamese overseas racer. Despite not starting in the top positions, Nguyen Vu Phuong (number 03) excellently overcame competitors to finish first with a time of 1 minute 40 seconds after 8 laps. The second and third positions went to Tran Gia Huy (number 05) and Nguyen Huu Tri (number 08) respectively.
Blade 110 category
In the Blade 110 category, there were 11 racers competing, including the notable presence of female racer Nguyen Truong Hai Yen (number 12) for the first time. Hai Yen started in the 7th position but finished in 5th place, an encouraging result for a female racer.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Phuong Tung (number 25) took full advantage of the pole position to cruise to victory without any obstacles. On the other hand, even though they didn’t have the advantage of starting in the top positions, racers Tran Tien Dung (number 30) and Ho Tuan Kiet (number 18) made their way up and finished in 2nd and 3rd places respectively.
Winner X 150 category

In a similar fashion to the Blade 110 category, the Winner X 150 category featured the presence of female racer Vo Huyen Thien Thu (number 32), who started in 2nd position after the qualifying session. And in an excellent afternoon of racing, this female racer maintained her position despite occasionally dropping to 4th place.
In this category, the first to cross the finish line was the familiar name Nguyen Minh Di (number 31), while Le Thanh Nhon (number 33) secured the 3rd position.
CBR150R category
The CBR150R category attracted special attention from fans as it was the first time the CBR150R model was included in the competition. And it seems that this small-sized imported sports motorcycle is born for the racetrack.
After securing pole position in the qualifying session, Nguyen Nhat Truong (number 64) with his experience from previous VMRC seasons comfortably outpaced his competitors and crossed the finish line without any obstacles. The second and third positions were claimed by Nguyen Nhat Linh (number 58) and Nguyen Hoang Dang Khoa (number 17) respectively.
UB 150 category
Lastly, the competition in the UB 150 category. As previously mentioned, the organizing committee has upgraded the UB 130 category to UB 150 to keep up with the technological trends of major races in the region.
This category always features intense and dramatic racing. And the reality accurately reflects that as Le Phung (number 13) and Le Khanh Loc (number 18) closely battled each other second by second. Only in the final moments at the finish line, Le Phung rose to claim the 1st position by a margin measured in fractions of a second compared to Le Khanh Loc’s 2nd position. The 3rd position went to Huynh Minh Sang (number 28).
Thus, the opening race of the VMRC 2022 season has officially ended with full of emotions. See you all again in race 2, which will take place in June.
