Honda Asia-Dream Racing with SHOWA Racing Team Announces 2020 Season Racing Plan

The Honda Asia-Dream Racing with SHOWA (HADR) team, comprised of top personnel from Honda companies and racing teams across Asia and the Pacific, recently unveiled their racing plans for the 2020 season at a press conference ahead of the Sepang 8 Hours race, part of the FIM Endurance World Championships, at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.

In 2019, HADR racing team completed the Asian Road Racing Championship (ARRC 2019) in the ASB1000 category, finishing in 4th place overall, and rider Zaqwan Zaidi secured a 3rd place finish overall. The team also achieved a 12th place finish in the JSB1000 category in the All-Japan Road Race Championship 2019 (JSB) and an 11th place finish in the grueling Suzuka 8-hour endurance race.

In 2020, the team will continue to strive for success in the ASB1000 category of the ARRC with the goal of winning the championship. The team will also participate in the Suzuka 8-hour race and the JSB 1000 championship with the aim of achieving the best possible results. Makoto Tamada, former MotoGP champion and team manager of HADR since its establishment, will continue to serve as the team manager. Zaqwan Zaidi, the Malaysian rider and former SS600 champion, will continue to race for the team with the goal of winning the championship.

In addition, Gerry Salim, the AP250 class champion of ARRC 2018, together with the Indonesia Astra Honda Racing team, will race alongside Zaqwan Zaidi for HADR with SHOWA.

Both HADR riders will be using the Honda CBR1000RR-R model, a new racing machine from the renowned CBR series that was introduced at the EICMA 2019 exhibition. With this model, HADR will be one of the leading racing teams in Asia and the Pacific.
