Honda dominates with 3 prestigious titles in the 2019 MotoGP season

Honda emerged as the complete victor of the 2019 MotoGP season, clinching all three titles: the rider championship with Marc Marquez #93, the team championship with Repsol Honda Team, and the manufacturer championship. Honda Vietnam (HVN) stood side by side and sponsored the Repsol Honda Team throughout the competition, organizing live coverage of the races in Vietnam and providing Vietnamese commentary for all the MotoGP 2019 races aired on Fox Sport and Fox Sport 2.

As such, HVN has collaborated with Honda Authorized Dealerships (HEAD) nationwide to broadcast all 19 races of MotoGP 2019 live in many provinces and cities throughout the country. In addition, HVN continues to sponsor the Vietnamese language broadcast of MotoGP 2019 on Fox Sport and Fox Sport 2. MotoGP 2019 marks the first year that all MotoGP races are sponsored and broadcasted with Vietnamese commentary, instead of only a few prominent races as in previous years.

With the dedication in accompanying and sponsoring the Repsol Honda Team and Honda in the MotoGP 2019 championship, HVN is extremely proud when Honda has achieved the prestigious Triple Crown. The three highest titles for Rider Champion, Team Champion, and Manufacturer Champion all belong to Honda. This is the 3rd consecutive year since 2017 that Honda has received this Triple Crown title, bringing the total number of times Honda has won this title to 9. As of the end of the MotoGP 2019 season, Honda is currently the only Manufacturer among the four major brands (Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Ducati) to have achieved the Triple Crown with consecutive impressive victories:

– Race 15 (held on October 6, 2019 at Chang International Circuit, Thailand) – Achieved MotoGP 2019 Rider Champion: rider Marc Marquez #93 of the Repsol Honda Team became the 2019 MotoGP champion after just 15 races with 325 points. This is Marquez’s fourth consecutive championship title and the sixth time a rider has won the MotoGP championship in his career. Marc Marquez currently holds the record for the youngest MotoGP champion in the world. Furthermore, with 420 points earned this season, MM93 has become the first rider in MotoGP history to score over 400 points in a season. As of the end of the MotoGP 2019 season, Marc Marquez holds the record for standing on the podium 95 times with 95 victories (this record is recognized as the second highest Honda rider in history, and the fourth highest rider in MotoGP history).

– Race 16 (held on October 20, 2019 at Twin Ring Motegi, Japan) – Achieved MotoGP 2019 Manufacturer Champion: Honda, participating in the MotoGP championship through the Repsol Honda Team and satellite teams (LCR Honda Idemitsu and LCR Honda Castrol), achieved the Manufacturer Championship title with 426 points. Ducati is in second place with 318 points, followed by Yamaha with 321 points and Suzuki with 234 points. Currently, Honda as a manufacturer holds 25 championship titles in MotoGP.

– Race 19 (held on November 17, 2019 at Ricardo Tormo Circuit, Valencia) – Achieved MotoGP 2019 Team Champion: with 458 points after 19 races, only 13 points ahead of the second-placed team Ducati Team, the Repsol Honda Team officially won the MotoGP 2019 championship, thereby confirming the Triple Crown for Honda in the season.

The MotoGP 2019 season ends with Honda’s complete victory in all 3 categories: Rider, Team, and Manufacturer. The 2019 season also becomes particularly meaningful as the legendary rider with 5 world championship titles – Jorge Lorenzo officially concludes his professional racing career in the colors of the Repsol Honda Team, wearing the number 99.

Entering the MotoGP 2020 season, rider Alex Marquez – the younger brother of Marc Marquez, who is currently competing in the Moto2 category, will officially join the Repsol Honda Team with a 1-year contract.
