The VMRC 2019 season is coming to its final stages, and the race to the championship is intensifying. In the first 4 races of the season, the riders have delivered high-level competition, solidifying the position of the biggest professional motorcycle racing championship in Vietnam. With only 2 races left, the fifth race is expected to be unpredictable as it is likely the last chance for the riders to keep their hopes alive for the championship title.
The fifth race will feature 45 riders (some riders will be absent) competing in 4 categories: Blade 110 (11 riders), MSX 125 (12 riders), Winner 150 (12 riders), and UB 130 (10 riders from 8 clubs).
In the Blade 110 category, rider Nguyen Duc Thanh is currently leading the standings with 64 points after 4 races, achieving absolute victory. Earlier in December 2019, Thanh also completed Race 7 of ARRC 2019 under the Honda Racing Vietnam team in the UB150 category. Behind Thanh is rider Vu Hoang Nam with 43 points, and rider Nguyen Manh Phat in third place with 40 points. Just by winning the fifth race, Nguyen Duc Thanh will become the champion of the Blade 110 category. Meanwhile, the chances for Hoang Nam and Manh Phat to win the championship are extremely slim. These two riders need to finish first in the remaining 2 races and hope that Duc Thanh will finish outside the top 12 in both races.
On the other hand, the situation in the MSX 125 category is incredibly intense, with the top riders closely competing in points. After winning the fourth race, rider Nguyen Hoang Dang Khoa is leading the standings with 48 points, pushing Nguyen Ngoc Nhan down to second place with 46 points. Rider Tran Minh Luan is in third place with 41 points, followed closely by riders Le Vu Truong Giang and Pham Thanh Bao in fourth place. With the current point difference, it’s understandable that the fifth race will continue to be a “storm center” for the MSX 125 category.
In the highest category, Winner 150, two riders, Le Hung Huu Tin and Nguyen Anh Tuan, are currently dominating with 58 points each. Behind them is rider Nguyen Tien Thanh with only 29 points. With a 29-point difference, it is certain that the championship title race will be a close battle between Tin and Tuan. Currently, Nguyen Anh Tuan has the advantage as he recently competed in Race 7 of ARRC 2019 under the Honda Racing Vietnam team, which helped him gain valuable experience and provided a perfect momentum for the upcoming fifth race of VMRC.
Lastly, in the UB130 category, which involves Wave modification clubs, after the fourth race, two riders, Le Phung and Le Trong Vinh, are leading the standings with 47 points. Behind them is rider Bui Duy Thong with 42 points. Rider Doan Truong Loi is in fourth place with 41 points. With the current point difference, the fifth race will continue to be a true “fiery storm” in the UB130 category. Especially in the upcoming fifth race, the UB130 category will welcome the return of “Loc Binh” Le Khanh Loc after a 6-month injury. Since fracturing his thigh bone in Race 3 of ARRC 2019, Race 5 of VMRC 2019 marks the milestone of Le Khanh Loc’s return to the asphalt, and it remains to be seen whether he can demonstrate his dominance as he did in the first two races of VMRC 2019.
The weather forecast in Binh Duong on 29/12 expects beautiful sunshine, with a maximum temperature of around 32 degrees Celsius and a moderate wind speed of about 7km/h. The weather conditions are ideal not only for the riders but also for the spectators who will be present at the 2K race track on the upcoming Sunday.
