We are no strangers to car manufacturers releasing First Edition versions to attract customers willing to spend more money in exchange for more attractive features and sometimes the opportunity to receive the car before customers who order the regular cheaper version.
BMW also follows this strategy when they previously offered a First Edition version for the M8 Gran Coupe and now the latest 5-Series also receives a First Edition. However, for now, the brand only offers it in the Japanese market.
The First Edition version of the 5-Series is offered in a choice of mineral white or black sapphire paint colors and comes standard with the M Sport body kit package, 20-inch M alloy wheels, and a glowing illuminated kidney grille frame. In addition, BMW equips this version with a panoramic sunroof, Harmon Kardon sound system, and interior upholstered in faux leather Alcantara and Veganza.
Japanese customers can choose to buy the 5-Series First Edition with petrol or diesel engines or the fully electric i5 First Edition.
Currently, BMW has only announced the price of the 5-Series First Edition using the diesel engine, with prices starting from 9,640,000 Yen, equivalent to 63,660 USD.
The first BMW 5-Series First Edition models will be delivered to customers in Japan in early 2024.
