Regarding the design, the 2024 BMW X2 features a sporty SUV coupe overall design. The front of the car is upright, the wheel arches flare out, and the tail of the car is powerful, giving it a confident and athletic look, making the crossover appear more mature than its predecessor.
The streamlined headlights, integrated with 2 LED daytime running lights, new taillights and the option of illuminated grille, are what set the X2 apart from its sibling, the X1. The new X2 is also the first compact BMW to offer 21-inch wheels as an option.
The sides of the car have been refined with smoother design lines and flush-fitting door handles. In terms of size, the new X2 has increased its length by 193 mm to 4,567 mm, while the wheelbase has been extended by 23 mm compared to its predecessor.
Entering the cabin, users will quickly notice that it is more spacious compared to the previous model. For example, legroom in the rear seats has been increased by 25.4 mm.
In terms of interior equipment, BMW has focused on touch and voice control through the BMW Curved Display and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, supported by the new BMW iDrive 9, which made its debut on the 2024 BMW X1 M35i xDrive in June this year.
The curved center display includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.7-inch infotainment screen seamlessly integrated behind a curved glass surface. The QuickSelect feature allows quick activation of selected functions without delving into submenus, and a single touch on the home icon brings the user back to the main screen. Finally, among the new interior features is the inward-facing cabin camera capable of taking photos and shooting videos.
In terms of powertrain, the 2024 BMW X2 available in the U.S. will come with 2 drivetrain options. The base engine is a 2.0L 4-cylinder on the X2 xDrive28i, producing a maximum output of 241 horsepower. This engine allows the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds.
Upgrading to the X2 M35i xDrive, users will receive a more powerful 2.0L engine, producing a maximum output of 312 horsepower, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 5.2 seconds. The M sport exhaust system enhances the driving experience. Both X2 models come with the exclusive new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
