The Los Angeles Auto Show will open on November 16, and Hyundai will use the event to introduce the US version of the Santa Fe.
The new Hyundai Santa Fe is expected to arrive at the brand’s dealerships in the US in the first half of 2024. The car is said to have a similar exterior design to the Korean version of the Santa Fe. Therefore, the US version will adopt a boxy design with sharp lines, prominent wheel arches, and special lighting clusters with an H-shaped graphic.
In addition to the bold new look, the 2024 Santa Fe is also larger than its predecessor, with a length of 4,830 mm and a wheelbase length of 2,815 mm, an increase of 46 and 48 mm respectively.
Moving inside, we can expect a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, and a 6.6-inch screen to control the air conditioning system. The car is also equipped with a dual smart wireless phone charger and digital rearview mirrors.
In terms of seating, second-row passengers will have an additional 35 mm of legroom. Meanwhile, third-row passengers will have the best headroom in the segment as well as 15 mm more legroom.
In terms of safety equipment, the car is expected to receive a comprehensive list of driver-assistance systems such as Forward Collision Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Highway Driving Assist, and Smart Cruise Control. These will be combined with features like Remote Smart Parking Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning, Safe Exit Assist, and Surround View Monitor. The Santa Fe will also become Hyundai’s first model in the US to have a Driver Attention Warning system that “analyzes important driver cues to help ensure safe driving”.
Hyundai has confirmed that the US market version will be offered with two different engines, including a 2.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine producing a maximum power of 277 hp and a maximum torque of 422 Nm. In addition, users can choose the 1.6L turbocharged hybrid powertrain with 178 hp and 265 Nm of torque.
