Mazda CX-50 is a new model from the Japanese car brand, considered as a comprehensive upgrade of the CX-5, pioneering the complete SUV lineup extending from CX-50 to CX-90 for the global market.
Not only does this model have a traditional combustion engine version, but it also has a fuel-saving hybrid version.
Introduced at the Shanghai Auto Show back in April, the new Mazda CX-50 Hybrid is now officially priced. Accordingly, the Mazda CX-50 Hybrid will be distributed in 4 versions with prices ranging from 195,800 – 239,800 NDT (about 659 – 807 million VND).
Similar to its “siblings” in the same brand, the Mazda CX-50 Hybrid is still designed in the Kodo language.
The front of the car makes an impression with a black grille, surrounded by thick border lines in the same color, giving the Mazda CX-50 Hybrid a stronger and more sporty look. Connected to the grille is a circular-shaped LED headlight cluster featuring daytime running LED strip lights.
The front bumper of the car is designed to be muscular, accompanied by 2 horizontally thin fog lights and a centrally divided air vent. There are also quite large vertical air vents at the two corners of the front bumper. Lastly, there is a silver-colored under-bumper trim, completing the masculine look of the Mazda CX-50 Hybrid.
The rear of the car features a taillight cluster that is quite similar to the headlights with circular-shaped elements inside. There are also vertical air vents at the two corners of the rear bumper similar to the front bumper. In addition, there is a silver trim below the rear bumper, surrounding the two round exhaust pipes.
In terms of interior, the cabin of the Mazda CX-50 Hybrid still carries a design style that focuses on the driver and is finished with high-quality materials. The car features outstanding amenities such as analog dashboard, 12.3-inch center infotainment screen placed on the dashboard, voice control, software updates via WiFi, head-up display, Bose audio system, sunroof, heated seats, and level 2 automated driving assistance system.
The biggest difference on the Mazda CX-50 Hybrid compared to the previously released versions is the powertrain. The car is powered by a combination of a naturally aspirated 2.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor, resulting in a total output of 178 horsepower.
Currently, the brand has not announced detailed specifications for the electric motor or the fuel consumption of the new CX-50 Hybrid. It is known that the car will have all-wheel-drive AWD.
In addition to the hybrid version, the Mazda CX-50 in the Chinese market also offers 2 gasoline engine options with displacements of 2.0L and 2.5L. The engines come with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Specifically, the 2.5L engine features active cylinder deactivation technology, resulting in an average fuel consumption of 7.35 liters/100 km.
Currently, this Mazda CX-50 hybrid SUV is only available in the Chinese market.
