The MG Cyberster electric car has 3 versions, in which the lowest version uses a 64 kWh battery with a maximum operating range of 501 km, with a rear-mounted electric motor with a power of 314 horsepower. The middle version uses a 77 kWh battery for a range of 680 km, with a rear-mounted electric motor with a power of 340 horsepower.
The highest version uses a 77 kWh battery but has a range of only 520 km, as the battery has to power 2 electric motors placed at the front and rear axles, with a total power of up to 544 horsepower. The acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h of the car is under 3 seconds.
The electric drivetrain has a weight disadvantage so it’s understandable why the MG Cyberster weighs nearly twice as much as the Mazda MX-5 (2,075 tons vs 1,058 tons).
The interior of the MG Cyberster has a futuristic design, with a focus on the driver. The car is equipped with a dashboard consisting of 3 LCD screens facing the driver, a vertical center screen placed low, button-style shifter, steering wheel with paddle shifters and integrated mode activation buttons,…
Introduced on the global market in mid-April this year, the MG Cyberster is produced by the SAIC Group at a plant in China but has not yet been officially launched. The expected price of the MG Cyberster in its home market is around 33,000 USD for the base version and over 37,000 USD for the highest version.
