After launching the new version of the Cayenne earlier this year, Porsche continues to upgrade the Panamera. In its third generation, this luxury 4-door coupe has been improved in design and added with new engines.

Exterior design of the Porsche Panamera 2024

The Porsche Panamera 2024 still retains the overall design of the previous generation. Therefore, this model looks more like a mid-cycle facelift rather than a completely new generation. However, Porsche affirms that all body panels of the Panamera 2024 have been redesigned.

The most noticeable change in the exterior of the Porsche Panamera 2024 is the front section. It is equipped with a narrow radiator grille at the top and a wide central air intake below. In addition, it features standard LED Matrix headlights with a new design that suits the changes in the front fenders.

In contrast to the front of the car, there are not many changes in the side area of the Porsche Panamera 2024. Porsche only adds new air vents to the front fenders, sharper window edges, and frameless rear windows for the car. Of course, the car also comes with new wheel designs, including optional 21-inch wheels inspired by the Porsche 911 GT3.

The third generation Porsche Panamera still retains the sloping roofline like a coupe. The full LED taillights of the car are slimmer in design. In addition, it has a new rear wing with 2 open positions and a new rear diffuser. These details make the Porsche Panamera 2024 reminiscent of its sibling, the 911 ST.

The Turbo E-Hybrid flagship version of the Panamera will have identifiable features such as large air ducts at the front corners. The duct surrounds, door sills, rear diffuser trim, and “Turbo” logo on the trunk lid will be painted in the new Turbonite gray color from Porsche.

Like the design, the dimensions of the car don’t differ much from the previous generation. The car has dimensions of 5,052 x 1,938 x 1,422 mm (length x width x height), with only the length increasing by a slight 3 mm.

Interior design of the Porsche Panamera 2024

Like the new Cayenne, the Porsche Panamera 2024 is equipped with a more modern interior with more screens to keep up with market trends and meet consumer preferences. Stepping inside this car, the driver will find 3 screens, including a digital instrument cluster and a 12.6-inch touch screen in the center, as well as an optional 10.9-inch entertainment screen for the front passenger.

One more notable change inside the Porsche Panamera 2024 is the disappearance of the traditional gear lever on the center console. Instead, it features a compact gear selector located between the instrument cluster and the infotainment screen. This helps streamline and tidy up the center console design.

Although there are 3 screens on the dashboard, the center console of the Porsche Panamera 2024 still has mechanical buttons located just below the air vents. The 3-spoke steering wheel of the car also integrates function buttons.

Engines of the Porsche Panamera 2024

In the third generation, the Porsche Panamera has increased the number of plug-in hybrid powertrains (E-Hybrid) to 4. All of them are more powerful, more fuel-efficient, and allow the car to travel further without using the gasoline engine.

Unfortunately, Porsche has only announced the specifications of the engine used for the Turbo E-Hybrid version of the Panamera. Specifically, this version is equipped with a 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 gasoline engine combined with an electric motor integrated into the 8-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission and a larger 25.9 kWh battery pack. This powertrain provides a total output of 670 horsepower, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3 seconds and reach a top speed of 196 mph.

In addition to the hybrid powertrain, the Porsche Panamera 2024 is also equipped with conventional gasoline engine versions. The standard version and the Panamera 4 are powered by an upgraded 2.9L twin-turbocharged V6 gasoline engine, producing a maximum output of 348 horsepower and maximum torque of 368 lb-ft. Compared to the previous generation, this engine is 23 horsepower and 50 lb-ft stronger.

In addition to the engine, the Porsche Panamera 2024 is also equipped with an optional new Active Ride suspension system. This system not only makes the car run smoother on rough roads but also automatically adjusts the ground clearance according to the driving conditions. The “Comfort Access” feature will raise the ground clearance by 5.5 cm to make it easier for users to get in and out of the car, similar to SUV models.

Even the standard suspension system of the car has been improved to provide a more comfortable ride and more responsive handling.

Safety features of the Porsche Panamera 2024

The optional Porsche InnoDrive safety package of the Porsche Panamera 2024 has been upgraded to provide a higher level of semi-autonomous driving. In addition, the car features the Remote ParkAssist system, which allows the driver to remotely control parking via a smartphone.
