Expected to be launched early next year, the 2024 Kia Sorento Facelift features an elegant and powerful exterior design based on the Opposites United design philosophy. The US version of the Kia Sorento looks quite similar to the variant for the Korean market. However, there is one major change, which is the daytime running lights in amber color.
The 2024 Kia Sorento features a completely new front end that is more muscular and sporty. It combines a prominent grille with new vertical headlights and a wider skid plate to enhance its robustness.
Kia does not mention many other changes, but the crossover is equipped with a new rear bumper and redesigned taillights. Buyers will also receive a refined exterior paint color palette, including Dawning Red and Midnight Lake Blue.
Moving to the interior, we can see a more premium cabin with many modern features. These include a new panoramic curved display that consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment system. This infotainment screen is said to provide faster response and can receive software updates over the air.
Other highlights include digital key technology, digital rearview mirror, and an upgraded Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist system. Additionally, the car will also be equipped with various other driver assistance systems including Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, and Highway Driving Assist 2. Kia also mentioned that US users can expect an Intelligent Cruise Control system with Machine Learning.
In addition to the usual improvements in design and equipment, the 2024 Sorento also offers a new X-Pro variant with 17-inch off-road wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich tires. Based on the X-Line variant, this X-Pro version features unique front/rear skid plates, a gloss black grille, and a center differential lock. Buyers will also find a luxurious cabin with leather seats, wood trim accents, and a unique color combination of Olive Brown and Sage.
Under the hood, there is a naturally aspirated 2.5L 4-cylinder engine. The naturally aspirated engine delivers 191 horsepower and 245 Nm of torque, while the turbocharged engine produces 281 horsepower and 421 Nm of torque. The HEV and PHEV versions are expected to be launched at the end of 2024.
