The new Subaru Forester has a design that is quite similar to the old BMW X1 with prominent curves and a relatively low roof (compared to other segment models) creating a blocky, masculine and more modern body, however, this new design has received criticism that it looks less charismatic.
One noteworthy aspect is the noticeable similarity between the new Forester 2024 and the Toyota RAV4 competitor with the square wheel arches and small folds on the D-pillars of the body.
Meanwhile, the front of the new Subaru Forester is squarer and stands out with a wider grille, improved headlights, and a narrower LED daytime running light strip.
Moving to the rear, the taillights have been redesigned to have a more conventional style with transparent lenses and connected through a black strip.
Inside, the all-new Forester features an infotainment system with a prominent vertical touchscreen on the dashboard with fewer physical control buttons. The base version uses a 7-inch screen, while higher-end versions use an 11.6-inch screen, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Notably, the new 2024 Forester still comes equipped with analog gauges similar to the previous generation, instead of using completely digital instrument clusters. The steering wheel features a 3-spoke design wrapped in leather and integrated with control buttons.
However, all versions of the 2024 Forester come equipped with a panoramic sunroof and a power-adjustable rear trunk activated by a foot sensor.
The Subaru Forester 2024 is equipped with a 2.5L 4-cylinder boxer engine. This engine has a maximum power reduced by 2 horsepower, down to 180 horsepower, but the maximum torque increases from 239 Nm to 241 Nm. Additionally, the new Forester has the advantage of a 10% stiffer frame structure and a new electric power steering system inherited from the sporty WRX sedan.
In addition, the Subaru Forester 2024 also receives an improved EyeSight package with a wider field of view and the ability to detect cyclists and pedestrians faster.
The base and Premium versions are equipped with smaller 17-inch wheels, while the Limited version uses 18-inch wheels, and the Sport and Touring versions feature 19-inch wheels (bronze color in Sport version).
