It is a fact that the sedan segment has seen a significant decline in popularity due to the rising trend of SUVs. However, there are still sedans that have good sales figures, such as the Toyota Camry – the 5th best-selling car in the US market in 2022. Therefore, it is not surprising that Toyota decided to organize a global launch event for the 9th generation Camry in North America.

In this upgrade, the 2025 Toyota Camry receives significant notable changes, bringing a new look and new technologies. Especially, for the first time, this mid-size sedan is only available in a hybrid version, eliminating the V6 engine.

The new 2025 Toyota Camry is still developed on the TNGA-K platform of the 8th generation Camry. However, according to the Japanese automaker, the new Camry has an upgraded suspension system to provide better response and handling. In the US, the car is available in LE, SE, XLE, and XSE trims.

In terms of exterior design, the 2025 Camry maintains its traditional sedan characteristics instead of following the SUV trend. The exterior changes of the new Camry are evaluated as enough to bring a newer, sportier appearance that can easily attract even younger customers.

The front of the car stands out with a larger grille and sleeker headlights. The new model has standard LED headlights, daytime running lights, and taillights. Particularly, the headlight design is quite similar to the new Prius model.

There is also a difference in the grille between versions, with a sportier black grille on the SE and a metallic gray grille on the XLE.

The XSE trim features a body-colored lower bumper, black trunk lid trim, and 19-inch wheels. The car is available with a Midnight Black Metallic roof combined with Ocean Gem, Wind Chill Pearl, Heavy Metal, and Supersonic Red colors.

The 2025 Camry is equipped with a 7.0-inch digital gauge cluster and an 8.0-inch infotainment screen. The XLE and XSE trims are equipped with a pair of 12.3-inch screens for the gauge cluster and infotainment display. The infotainment screen supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, the car is equipped with wireless charging, a JBL 9-speaker sound system. The higher trims also come with a 10-inch HUD (Head-Up Display).

Among the Camry 2025 trims, there are also differences in the interior materials used. Specifically, the SE trim uses SofTex material with white accents instead of Boulder or Black. The LE trim uses printed fabric material with wave patterns. The XSE trim has black or vibrant red leather upholstery, and the XLE trim also has a Dinamica microfiber trim. The XLE and XSE trims offer optional heated and ventilated seats, laminated acoustic glass for the front windows to reduce wind noise in the cabin.

Another notable upgrade on the 2025 Camry is that the car is only available as a hybrid version, with front-wheel drive or AWD. The hybrid powertrain on the Camry 2025 is a combination of a 2.5L inline-4 engine with two electric motors. With the front-wheel drive version, this powertrain delivers a combined output of 225 horsepower, while the all-wheel drive version produces a combined output of 232 horsepower. Both powertrains use an eCVT gearbox.

All 2025 Camry trims come standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. This package includes Forward Collision Warning to detect vehicles and pedestrians, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, Automatic High Beams, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.

The XLE and XSE trims are offered with an optional Premium Plus Package which adds features such as Intersection Support, Front Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist, a panoramic view monitor, and front and rear parking support with automatic braking. Currently, there is no information available about the TRD performance trim.

However, with the standard hybrid powertrain, it is likely that the Camry 2025 will have a higher starting price compared to its predecessor, which has a starting price of $26,420 for the gasoline engine version, and $28,855 for the 2024 Camry Hybrid.
