This is the second version of the new Toyota Crown line to be sold in the US, after the Crown Crossover debuted in 2022. In the US market, the Toyota Crown Crossover is considered a replacement for the Avalon. Meanwhile, the Toyota Crown Signia is the model that replaces the mid-size SUV Venza.

Compared to the concept version introduced in Japan last year, the Toyota Crown Signia 2024 has a similar exterior. This model also applies a new design language like the Toyota Prius and Camry 2024.

The highlight of the Toyota Crown Signia 2024 is the shark front design. Here, the car is equipped with a narrow upper grille, located between two slim LED daytime running lights. In the middle of this grille is the radar box to serve the car’s advanced ADAS driving assistance features.

The car’s headlights have a compact design and are positioned lower than the LED daytime running lights. Furthermore, the Toyota Crown Signia 2024 also has a wide inverted trapezoidal center air intake on the front bumper.

Next are the prominent raised creases near the window sill, the low roof that creates a sportier feel than traditional SUVs, 19-21-inch wheels, a sloping rear end, and slender taillights with continuous design. In addition, the car also has glossy black exterior details such as front/rear bumper trim, wheel arch moldings, and door trims. Unlike the Toyota Crown Estate in Japan, this SUV does not have the Crown brand logo on the front and rear.

However, the car is expected to have dimensions of 4,930 x 1,880 x 1,620 mm (length x width x height, respectively) and a wheelbase length of 2,850 mm, similar to the Toyota Crown Estate in Japan. With this size, the Toyota Crown Signia 2024 is positioned in the mid-size SUV segment, competing with the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento.

In the US market, this car has 2 versions: XLE and Limited. In which, the standard XLE version is equipped with features such as a digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch center touchscreen, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, power-adjustable front seats, fabric seats, a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, power trunk lid, 6-speaker sound system, wireless phone charging, 5 USB ports,…

In the Limited version, the car adds leather seats, heated/ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a fixed panoramic sunroof, digital rearview mirror, and a JBL Premium Audio 11-speaker sound system.

In addition to the TNGA-K platform, the Toyota Crown Signia 2024 is also equipped with soundproof glass and an engine bay cover made of noise-reducing material. These features promise to provide a quiet interior space for the car.

Engine of the Toyota Crown Signia 2024

Following the general trend of the current Toyota family, the Crown Signia only uses a hybrid engine. The “heart” of the car is a 2.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine combined with 2 electric motors, producing a total output of 243 horsepower. This engine is mated to an e-CVT gearbox and 4-wheel drive. When needed, the drivetrain can distribute up to 80% of the power to the rear wheels to limit front-wheel slippage and reduce head toss. According to Toyota, this mid-size SUV has an average fuel consumption of about 6.53 liters per 100 km.

Safety features of the Toyota Crown Signia 2024

In addition to convenience, the Toyota Crown Signia 2024 also has many modern safety features thanks to the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 advanced driving assistance package. Specifically, the car is equipped with lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, pedestrian detection, automatic headlights, and 8 airbags.

Meanwhile, the optional Advanced Technology package will add low-speed (Traffic Jam Assist), lane change assist and a 360-degree camera system to the car.

According to the plan, the Toyota Crown Signia 2024 will be sold in the US market in the summer of next year. The car’s price has not been announced yet.
