The Infiniti QX60 was introduced to the Vietnamese market in mid-2016 and is one of the flagship products of the Japanese brand. This model competes with rivals in the same luxury mid-size SUV segment such as the Audi Q7, BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE, and Lexus RX350.
Exterior Design
Overall, the Infiniti QX60 has a very eye-catching design that suits middle-aged customers. The front is a honeycomb grille with the Infiniti logo integrated in the middle, along with a camera. The sleek bi-xenon headlights look like the eyes of an eagle, coupled with daytime running LED lights.

On the sides, the main highlight is the elegant C-pillar design, which allows passengers in the 3rd-row seats to still feel spacious and not cramped. The power-folding mirrors have integrated turn signals, heating function, auto tilt-down in reverse, and a camera, but they are slightly small. The standard version still uses 18-inch wheels, which are slightly small compared to the overall size of the car.
Compared to rivals in the same segment, the Infiniti QX60 has the longest length with dimensions of 5,093mm in length, 1,960mm in width, 1,742mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,900mm. Therefore, no matter where you sit in the car, you will feel comfortable.
At the rear of the car, what makes me fascinated is the taillight cluster with 2 C-shaped LED strips that are very stylish. The storage space is a plus point for the Infiniti QX60. When the 3rd-row seats are up, users still have enough space for necessary luggage, and when the 3rd-row seats are folded down, there is a very spacious area, which can accommodate up to 5 golf sets.
Interior Space
The Infiniti QX60 is truly one of the ideal SUVs for families if we consider the usable space. This is clearly shown from the driver’s seat to the 3rd-row seats, which are very comfortable and spacious.

However, the QX60 still has some areas that need improvement, such as the steering wheel that feels “ordinary”, the center control panel is designed in a classic style with many buttons that are not really eye-catching, a small sunroof, monotonous 2nd-row seats, and inconvenient access to the 3rd-row seats.
On the Infiniti QX60, the driver’s seat is 10-way power-adjustable with 2 memory positions, while the front passenger seat is 6-way power-adjustable. The center of the control panel is an 8-inch touch screen, integrated with a rearview camera, 3-zone independent air conditioning with microfilter, Bose 13-speaker sound system, 1-disc CD/DVD player, auto-dimming rearview mirror, around view monitor system with moving object detection function, and front/rear parking sensors.
The 2nd-row seats can be folded in a 60/40 ratio and slide for optimized space, while the 3rd-row seats can be folded in a 50/50 ratio to expand the cargo space.
Safety Features
In terms of safety, the Infiniti QX60 is equipped with a range of new safety features such as ABS with BA, advanced dual-stage airbags, EBD, VDC with traction control, tire pressure monitoring system, Zone Body structure with a rigid passenger compartment and front/rear energy-absorbing zones, and a 360-degree camera.
Performance
The most impressive aspect of the Infiniti QX60 is its performance, and it has been a long time since we had the opportunity to experience a car that brings such excitement. Despite its large size, the QX60 is very sturdy and makes the driver and passengers feel confident whether driving at high speeds or through sharp turns.
The Infiniti QX60 is equipped with a 3.5L V6 engine with 263 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and a peak torque of 334 Nm at 4,400 rpm, combined with an electronically controlled CVT transmission and an intelligent AWD system.
The QX60 has 4 driving modes: Eco (Economy), Standard, Snow, and Sport. Eco, Standard, and Sport modes affect the throttle response, while Snow mode we haven’t had the opportunity to test yet as there is no suitable road. Perhaps with the climate in Vietnam, rainy and slippery roads will be the conditions for this mode to come into play. Eco and Standard are for drivers with a calm driving style, aiming for fuel efficiency. As for those who like sports driving, Sport mode is ideal.
In Sport mode, I just need to gently press the accelerator and the car accelerates quickly, without feeling the heaviness of a 2-ton 7-seater SUV. The accelerator has a kick-down mode and you can fully press it to easily overtake the cars in front.
While the world is gradually transitioning to electric power steering, the Infiniti QX60 still features a hydraulic power steering system that varies with the vehicle’s speed. This system may not be suitable for women, but for men, it is truly exciting. It provides a sense of authenticity and allows the driver to feel the car more clearly.
To better understand the QX60, we set up cones for slalom driving to test the car’s chassis, and it seems that this test is not enough to challenge the long luxury SUV that is over 5 meters in length and weighs over 2 tons. Despite going through the cones at speeds of 60-70 km/h, the car does not sway and stays firmly planted on the road.
Another plus point on the Infiniti QX60 is its excellent sound insulation. The cabin space is very quiet. We used a noise measuring device to test at a speed of 100 km/h and the result was only 65-67 dB, which is very impressive.
Overall Evaluation
With the value it offers, the Infiniti QX60 deserves to be one of the worthy choices for customers looking for a luxury 7-seater SUV in the 3 billion VND price range in Vietnam. Although there are still some points that are not impressive compared to its competitors, the QX60 fully meets the requirements in terms of equipment, exterior design, and engine.
Previously, many customers were concerned about the service system because Infiniti only had a dealership and service center in Ho Chi Minh City, but this has been partially resolved as the luxury brand is now also present in Hanoi. The product quality has been affirmed, and perhaps by doing a good job of public relations, Infiniti will reach out to more Vietnamese consumers.
