Hyundai has recently unveiled the 2024 Sonata. At the moment, detailed information about this D-segment sedan has not been released, but the Korean automaker claims that this new version is even more than just a regular mid-cycle refresh.
Following the brand’s Sensuous Sportiness design philosophy, the 2024 Sonata draws inspiration from the second-generation Kona with its wide LED strip lighting running across the front. The main headlights are hidden within the upper portion of the air intakes on each side. The grille is larger and features sharper and more impressive design lines. Furthermore, the car has a more muscular hood with strong raised creases.
In the rear, the car is equipped with a new trunk lid, slim LED taillights that are connected by a single LED strip. The N Line models come with sporty exhaust tips and special 19-inch wheels.
Moving to the interior, the interior of the 2024 Hyundai Sonata also receives notable upgrades. The most evident change is the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 12.3-inch infotainment screen, both housed within a floating curved display. Additionally, the 2024 version features a behind-the-wheel gear shifter.
Hyundai has upgraded the interior of the 2024 Sonata to improve passenger experience, combining with elegant and sporty colors for each variant.
As mentioned before, Hyundai has not yet announced detailed technical specifications for the 2024 Sonata. However, according to some sources, a 2.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine will be the standard engine, replacing the 1.6L turbocharged engine offered in some markets. The 2.5L engine delivers 290 horsepower and 421 Nm of torque in the pre-successor Sonata N Line, which has received high praise.
The 2024 Hyundai Sonata will be launched at the Seoul Motor Show in South Korea from March 30 to April 9, and it may make its first appearance in the US at the New York International Auto Show on April 6.
