Yamaha YZF-R15 starts at 78 million VND. |
Yamaha Vietnam has just launched the new generation YZF-R15. In addition to the standard edition, YZF-R15M also appeared.
The price of the fourth-generation YZF-R15 is 78 million VND, while the YZF-R15M is sold for 86-87 million VND, 8-9 million VND more expensive. The old generation of YZF-R15 is priced at 70 million VND.

From the cheapest sportbike in the segment, YZF-R15 now becomes the most expensive model. The two rivals Honda CBR150R and Suzuki GSX-R150 have prices of 71.29-72.79 million and 71.99 million VND respectively.
“A price above 80 million VND will make it difficult for YZF-R15M, users choosing a 150cc bike will feel hesitant about the price of YZF-R15M,” Mr. Tu (Ho Chi Minh City) shared with Zing about the price of Yamaha YZF-R15M.

Compared to the old generation, the new YZF-R15 is almost completely changed, from design to equipment. This sportbike model is designed in the style of “elder brother” R-Series models, especially the YZF-R7. The YZF-R15M variant has differences from the rear seat, front shock absorber, fuel tank…
Yamaha equips the fourth-generation YZF-R15 with the same 155cc engine as the old version. This engine block delivers a power of 19.1 horsepower at 10,000 rpm, maximum torque of 14.7 Nm at 8,500 rpm. We can see that the power of the new YZF-R15 is slightly higher than the CBR150R (17.1 horsepower, 13.7 Nm) and GSX-R150 (19.1 horsepower, 14 Nm).

Technology is considered a highlight of the new YZF-R15 compared to its competitors. This sportbike model has features such as quick shifting, 2-way slipper clutch, 2-channel ABS brakes, traction control… These features are only available on the YZF-R15M version.
In general, the highest price in the segment will definitely make Yamaha YZF-R15 face many difficulties in approaching customers. However, upgrades in terms of equipment and design also help this model to have a highlight compared to 2 local rivals.
