The Jaguar F-Pace is the first SUV model of the British car manufacturer, launched in Vietnam in March this year to compete with models like the Porsche Macan or slightly lower, the BMW X3. With its powerful and sporty exterior design inherited from the C-X17 concept model and the F-Type sport coupe, the F-Pace still offers all the luxury amenities and practicality for daily use.

Usually, crossover SUV models with moderate size and sloping roof design will make the interior space quite limited. However, the F-Pace model has excellently improved this drawback with a luggage volume of 650L, or up to 1740L when the rear seats are folded, the largest in its segment.

Even the rear seats provide enough space for 3 adults to sit comfortably, although the legroom of the F-Pace is slightly smaller than that of the BMW X3 on paper. Around the interior compartment are convenient storage compartments, from both sides of the doors, the central control panel, glove box, to the armrest… making it easier to store personal belongings. It’s a pity that the car does not have a 7-seater option – although this is understandable when the sporty and dynamic factor is more focused on the F-Pace.

In reality, the level of comfort during operation still depends on the equipped features of the car. With the version used in Vietnam equipped with a sports suspension system and 22-inch wheels – the largest size that Jaguar offers for the F-Pace, the feeling of sitting in the car while driving may not be very comfortable, especially when driving on rough and bumpy roads. However, the optional Adaptive Suspension system allows adjusting the stiffness of the shock absorbers, increasing comfort for passengers.

Behind the steering wheel is a 5-inch TFT display that provides intuitive and full information. However, when compared to the Virtual Cockpit touchscreen on Audi models, the Jaguar F-Pace falls a bit short, in terms of both features and attractiveness.
Normal driving experience: 6/10
When sitting in the F-Pace, you will feel a bit restricted in terms of visibility due to the large A pillar, the mirrors are large but the aspect ratio is not quite appropriate (a bit square), and the rear window is small… Not only that, the wide turning radius is also one of the most challenging factors, especially when parking or reversing the car. Fortunately, the car is equipped with both front and rear parking sensors, which somewhat ease the difficulties of parking the car in the right position.
The automatic transmission on the 2.0L engine versions usually has the weakness of not being smooth, sometimes the gear shifts quite abruptly. This drawback in the F-Pace model in Vietnam has been significantly improved because all versions are equipped with a V6 3.0L engine, which provides a smoother and more comfortable driving experience, along with good power of 340 horsepower, which is powerful enough for normal commuting or rough roads that require off-road capabilities.
Sporty driving experience: 8/10
As mentioned above, if equipped with an adaptive suspension system that matches the size of the wheels, the Jaguar F-Pace will provide a sporty and captivating driving experience. The grip on the road and the feeling of the road are good, especially when going around corners. Without this option, you will feel that the car is not as nimble, the front end responds slower, although overall everything is still great.

The electric power-assisted steering is quite responsive and flexible. The 6-cylinder engine provides an exciting sound, reminiscent of the F-Type sport coupe. The acceleration from 0 to 100km/h takes less than 6 seconds, which is satisfying for speed enthusiasts.
Reliability: 7/10
About 2 to 3 years ago, Jaguar Land Rover’s car models received quite a few complaints about reliability and durability in operation. However, over time, the British car manufacturer has gradually improved the quality and reliability of its car models. The warranty policy is also quite attractive and not inferior to famous brands like Mercedes-Benz or BMW. Specifically, customers in Vietnam who purchase a Jaguar car will enjoy a global warranty policy, including 03 years of free warranty, 05 years of free maintenance and 01 year of free physical damage insurance.
According to the 2016 consumer survey by J.D.Power, Jaguar ranked 16th out of 24 car manufacturers present in the UK, based on the number of problems per 100 cars. This is not a very good result, but one fact is that the more luxurious and technologically advanced a car is, the higher the likelihood of problems. An 8-inch touch screen, 18-inch alloy wheels, heated seats, dual-zone independent air conditioning, satellite navigation, Bluetooth, leather seats… In Vietnam, the car is distributed in 4 versions arranged in increasing price order: Prestige (VND 3.5 billion), Pure (VND 3.6 billion), R-Sport (VND 3.7 billion), and Portfolio (VND 3.9 billion).
