The VF 3 has size dimensions that make it ideal for maneuvering through small and narrow urban areas without taking up too much space when parking or easily moving through traffic jams and making U-turns.

Rumors of VinFast entering the Indonesian market have been circulating for some time. And most recently, the Indonesian media simultaneously reported that VinFast has registered the industrial design rights for the electric car model VF 3.

Specifically, VinFast Manufacturing and Trading Joint Stock Company registered the industrial design protection on November 22, 2023, at the Indonesian Copyright and Industrial Design Office, General Directorate of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Law and Human Rights. The document does not specify the type of vehicle for which the design is registered, as the design name is only listed as “Car”. However, we can easily recognize that the registered design is for the VinFast VF 3.

When it arrives in Indonesia, VinFast VF 3 will directly compete with the Wuling Air EV – the current dominant electric car model in this country’s mini car segment. Evidence of this is that in 2022, approximately 11,000 Wuling Air EV cars were sold, accounting for 75% of the electric car market share.

VinFast VF 3 features the design of an urban SUV with dimensions shorter and smaller than conventional A-segment cars. The overall length of the car is about 3,114 mm, with a design of 2 side doors, 1 rear trunk, and enough interior space for 5 passengers.

The compact yet tall and robust body is achieved by equipping the car with 16-inch or 17-inch wheels, allowing for a large ground clearance and easy movement across various terrain conditions. The exterior stands out with powerful geometric forms and strong lines that run from front to back.

In particular, the square-shaped headlights and mirrors, as well as the stylized V-wing logo on the front and rear bumpers, are the highlights that create a consistent design language, bringing dynamic and impressive visual effects to the overall design of the car.

According to some sources, VinFast VF 3 has a top speed of 100 km/h and a range of 285 km (according to the CLTC testing cycle of China) or 237 km (according to the WLTP testing cycle of Europe). VinFast has not yet confirmed these figures and has not officially provided detailed information on the smallest and most affordable electric car model in their product lineup.
