Haima, a car manufacturer, has recently announced its official launch in the Vietnamese market on December 17th.
The company will start its product lineup with two MPV models, Haima 7X and Haima 7X-E. The official prices and information about the cars will be announced at the launch event. Both models are positioned in the 7-seater MPV segment, aiming to compete with the Toyota Innova Cross in Vietnam.
The Haima 7X has dimensions of 4.815 x 1.874 x 1.720 (mm). It will be available in 3 versions: Elite, Luxury, and Premium.
The Haima 7X features a unique and eye-catching design. The front of the car stands out with a large grille, LED projector headlights, fog lights with LED bulbs, and integrated 360-degree camera. The car offers 3 options for wheel sizes: 17-inch, 18-inch, and 19-inch, corresponding to the 3 versions.
It is yet unclear what features the Vietnamese version of the car will have, but in its home country China, the car is equipped with a 7-seater configuration, a digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, leather seats, 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, 4-way manually adjustable passenger seat, 12.3-inch infotainment screen, 7-inch instrument cluster display, wireless charging, automatic air conditioning, panoramic sunroof, third-row seats monitoring camera, and more.
In terms of safety features, the Haima 7X is equipped with 6 airbags, reverse camera, 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, cruise control, ABS, EBD, electronic stability control, hill start assist, and hill descent control.
The Elite version of the 7X is powered by a turbocharged 1.5L engine, producing 165 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque.
Meanwhile, the Luxury and Premium versions are equipped with a turbocharged 1.6L engine, delivering 191.7 horsepower and 293 Nm of torque. All 3 versions come with a 6-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
The expected price range for the Haima 7X is from 700 to 800 million VND (approximately 30,000 to 35,000 USD). If the above price is accurate, this Chinese car is considerably more expensive than its competitors such as the Mitsubishi Xpander (priced from 25,000 to 30,000 USD) and the Toyota Veloz (priced from 29,000 to 31,000 USD).
The Haima 7X-E, which will also be launched on the same day, is an electric version based on the design of the Haima 7X MPV. It was recently released in the Chinese market in the second quarter of 2022. The electric 7-seater model will be available in 3 versions: Official, Deluxe, and Flagship, with an expected price of 1.1 billion VND (approximately 47,000 USD).
The Haima 7X-E has the same dimensions as the regular 7X. The exterior of the car has only a few minor changes to differentiate it from the 7X, including a closed grille, a charging port on the right front fender, and no rear exhaust pipe.
The car is powered by an electric motor with a power output of 201 horsepower, maximum torque of 340 Nm, and front-wheel drive. The car is equipped with a CALT battery with a capacity of 73.7 kWh, allowing it to travel up to 510 km on a single charge. The fast charging technology can charge the battery from 30% to 80% in just 27 minutes.
